Nice little pub. Have walked past it on several occasions so finally went in. Reasonably priced drinks and food and friendly staff. Would recommend.

Found the Mercat bar by chance while looking for a late brunch on a Sunday morning. Although the lighting was a bit dim the food was fine and the service very pleasant. Will remember that for the next time.

I visited by myself, on open mic night, and enjoyed the distraction of pretty good music as I ate. The waitresses were efficient and friendly, very welcoming. Vegetarian options are a bit limited, but I enjoyed a (large) bowl of olives with ciabatta, and the...More

Had breakfast here recently and it was lovely, nice freshly made food, served by well mannered, cheery staff and very reasonably priced. Would definitely return and recommend a visit.

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
