Stopped during Black Friday to grab a bit to go on with. Hubby had a pastie, I had a pork pie. Both were good, lovely crusts. The pork pie was a bit fatty for me, but that's the style of the food here. Well spiced, good flavour. Reasonably quick and reasonably priced.

You can take the girl out of Scotland but when she returns she makes a beeline to The Piemaker for a Macaroni Pie. Only £1.20 too. Doesn't take much to make me happy.

We stayed at a hotel across the street, and popped in here for som pies to take away and eat in our hotelroom. Tasty pies at prices you can't beat. Perfect if you're on a Budget or just want a quick warm snack.

Visited here on bonfire night during our trip in Edinburgh. Amazing pies at a great price (£2 for a steak pie!). They also sell sausage rolls, soups etc if you don't fancy a pie. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can take-away or sit in (only a few seats available though). Would definitely recommend.

This place has 4 vegan savoury pastries.... Mediterranean tomato ring, a creamy mushroom, a spinach and my all time favourite a savoury potato pastry. All delicious, homemade, flaky lovely pastry and loads of filling. Also the staff here are really cool, always friendly and full of banter and smiles. A great place for vegan options.

Great selection of pies at a good price point. Service is fast because the pies are premade (though relatively fresh). Limited seating. Also serves various desserts/soup if you're not feeling a pie.

Great service, friendly staff and excellent prices. Don't be intimidated by meat pies. I was unsure should I try them or not. I did and they were excellent. Will come back.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Couldn't believe the price even though it's rated as one of the top pie places in Edinburgh. £1.20 a pie, bargain! Tasted so so good too! I would recommend the Mac & Cheese!

Dropped in for a quick lunch with friends. Pies were excellent and staff were friendly and faultless. Only quarm is that it is quite a small place a s we struggled to find somewhere to sit. Would highly recommend!

Thank Harry O

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
