The Piemaker was on our must see list but what a disappointment! We entered the store the man working the the counter was so unfriendly and just plain rude. They had few choices by the time we arrived so we asked him a few questions...More

For the price it's by far hands-down best food choice if you're looking for authentic Scottish food fare. Not pretentious yet tasty, full of flavor, fresh hot pies and pasties.

A trip to Edinburgh wouldn't be the same without a pie from this shop. This time we opted for a Macoroni Pie which sounds so wrong it's right! A crispy, Scotch Pie style pastry shell filled with macoroni cheese- very tasty and just the thing...More

Everyone seems to rave about the pies here. Even at 11:30pm, there was a line waiting to get in. We bought a few savoury and a few sweet pies. The crust on the cherry pie was just ok. Not flaky like you'd expect. I really...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Not sure if they do Gluten Free. Most of what we saw was regular crusts. But if you're in the neighborhood, it's good to check it out. The guy at the counter very was friendly and approachable.

Hi there, if you haven’t gone to Edinburgh yet... the beef and potatoes pie was delicious and is what we picked as a “familiar “ item. They are kind of like hot pockets (here in the US) but Actually fresh/not frozen. They... More
