Lovely cosy cafe with limited outdoor seats and lovely menu. Staff very nice and attentive and great coffee and cakes also. Always a daily paper to read and nice way and place to enjoy watching the world go by. Good value and will visit soon.

I've no idea why I've never thought to write a review I come here so often, I love cafe plum , whilst it's a small area they manage to produce lovely filled rolls , the bacon comes from the equally great butchers across the road. Staff are very friendly and now know me by name. It's my secret little escape... More

Very friendly welcoming service here. Our son, who has special needs is known by name and they always allow us to bring his own special diet snacks. The friendliness outweighs the lack of special diet choices. Extending the menu to more gluten and dairy free choices is the only thing I'd change.

This is the fourth visit and the food only gets better. A 10 seat restaurant that serves the best toasties and Bacon n Egg rolls in Edinburgh. My husband had an excellent, fresh cup of coffee and I enjoyed a cup of Earl Grey with a generous supply of lemon slices whilst my guide dog lay peacefully at our feet.... More

This cafe is tiny but has a welcoming ambience and friendly staff.I had a portion of spiced chickpea soup and a toastie which,at less than £5.00,was excellent value especially for a establishment in a capital city.

Come here frequently enough for breakfast and their rolls are to die for. Always good quality bacon for the rolls got from the butcher across the road and very very good value for money. Friendly service and nice menu. Definitely recommend

Breakfast rolls are, as others have said, simply sublime and fantastic value at £2.50. The soup and filled croissant also comes highly recommended. Just an excellent breakfast / brunch place.

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
