Don't know how many times I passed this place on the bus and wondered what it was like. Finally tried it and wish I had years ago! Welcoming, friendly staff; freshly prepared, home made food; great breakfasts and very reasonable. Takeaway available too. Once you've had a breakfast, you won't need anything until the evening!

Great place to get a number of different breakfasts and breakfast rolls. They also do great lunch meals like homemade stovies, soups, pies and macaroni cheese. Staff are very attentive and know many of the regulars- such a friendly atmosphere. Lovely coffees and always leave feeling fully satisfied.
Don t get cafes like you use to. Honestly the food is Braw. Number one breakfast for me all the time. The Staff are very friendly and it is Steeped in history with Pictures of Leith. Its a how a Cafe should be .

This cafe is a great wee place for some honest homemade food such as stories or mince n tatties staff are great and it takes me back to my childhood years when going into Leith on a Saturday was the done thing, lots of pictures of the area from back in the day which is great to see.
Edinburgh is an expensive city and money soon goes especially during the Festival month of August. It is so important to find a cafe that makes good food and sells it at a fair price. Mitchell's down in Leith is a superb example of such a cafe. Unpretentious and simple this is a lovely cafe. Excellent food and friendly staff.... More
