Milk wife and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat in a part of Edinburgh we didn't know too well. It was a freezing cold evening and had spotted the Indaba mentioned on Google maps for this particular area so decided to give it a try rather than wandering around in the cold. What a good decision it turned... More

Great little restaurant tucked away in a side street that offer an interesting menu of Spanish Tapas and South African recipes. All freshly prepared on site so little dishes arrive one at a time and clearly nothing is pre-prepared. The service was efficient and friendly. The cheese-cake and the plum and almond sorbet especially delicious. We will be back....

This was an excellent diversion from a soggy, cold Saturday evening in Edinburgh. Food was excellent, service was good, atmosphere excellent, decor a bit quirky.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh and I've always given it 5 stars but I think trip advisor revues should always be honest so it's dropped to a 4 for me. Good things first, the ribs are truly magnificent and worthy of 5 stars just for them but I was a bit disappointed in the rest this... More

I found this place by accident and I'm glad that I did. The staff were very accommodating as I did not have a booking and it was busy a busy Friday. I loved the fusion of South African/Spanish/Scottish tapas: biltong, haggis & chorizo - oh happy days - and accompanied by great recommendations for wine to accompany each dish. I'll... More

We struggle to visit Edinburgh without booking a table at this lovely restaurant and our last trip was no exception. The place has a lovely atmosphere with super friendly staff and the food is amazing. Our only problem is although there is always a specials board which we always make a few choices from, the menu never changes and as... More

Hi Scfamilyaberdeen. Thanks for your repeat custom. Our menu has undergone various changes in the last six years, usually small tweaks to reduce the amount of time my wife or I spend in the kitchen. A Major menu change is planned for February. We will keep some of the most ordered Tapas and the rest will change. So hopefully when... More

Disgusted by the last couple of bad reviews on here. I go here every time I visit Edinburgh and the staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is unbelievable, the ribs are soooo good :-) I always look forward to seeing what's on the specials board, love trying new tasty dishes! The only disappointing thing... More

My family and I came here after my husband had recommended after being here numerous times on business. The food was unbelievable. The menu was small but that doesn't matter when everything on it was amazing. The specials were delicious. We ordered from the normal menu and specials and could not stop raving even after we left. Would definitely go... More

Managed to get a table last minute. Excited as we saw this place was top on the list for Edinburgh TA. Absolutely appalled not only by the poor food we received but the distinct lack of quality service you'd expect from a independent restaurant. The atmosphere was okay but every other aspect of our evening was below par. Now anticipating... More

Nasty, conceited people. Not content with bullying my staff in the restaurant, now bring that bullying online. Speaks volumes about the characters we had to contend with. I am glad my staff rebuffed your attempts at a free meal. I regret, I was not in for that night's service myself, you'd not have anything discounted and you'd not have left... More

Staff are rude - arrogant and argumentative. Food and wine selection very disappointing, restaurant very basic and shabby. One of the worst meals out in a long time. Won't ever return!

Staff are great, they've been with us for quite some time. We'll never satisfy everyone and we are truly happy you will not return. Luckily for us, your type don't happen along very often. More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
