We pre booked as we have previously been here before and wanted to return for the set menu which is very good value at under £15 per person. A good selection of traditional Scottish dishes and a good specials board. The Cullen skunk and monkfish...More

We highly recommend Howies Victoria. Excellent food (Both the catch of the day and the mussels were excellent)! We had lunch here twice while staying in Edinburgh. The two course option for lunch was a very good value. The staff is both with friendly and...More

The menu showed invention and promise of an enjoyable eating experience. The actuality was of tepid, in one case, cold food presented on cold plates resulting in the complete opposite to what was expected. Service, however, was good and attentive. The part of the restaurant...More

We were made to feel so welcome by Blair. The Haggis, needs and tatties were delicious. This is a great part of Edinburgh with a distinct flavour.Would totally recommend.

This restaurant has the reputation (according to our Food Tour Guide) - and it was very good. IIt did lack the potato thickness that we had experienced in Cullen - popular vs. tradition I guess. Certainly worth a visit. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair friendly.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
