I was a frequent visitor to LMF some years ago when working in the city centre. Finding ourselves changing buses at Haymarket, and peckish, we decided to nip in. We were not disappointed. Although completely refurbished, the food, wine and service are exactly as I...More

Petit but oh so fine! My fiance and I discovered it practically by chance, attracted by the misspelled but convenient steak (without the "c", mon ami :-) ) offer for the weekends, only to learn that it's not sirloin every weekend, it's whatever... cut du...More

I often buy a takeaway lunch here if I'm getting the train at Haymarket. The sandwiches are always delicious with beautiful fresh bread and fillings. The macarons are also fantastic and reasonably priced.

This is a nice French cafe in the west end. Some good French choices (bread, meats, cheese, tarts, etc). Friendly service and a reasonable price.

This place is a hidden gem, the breakfast always hits the spot and the lunch box deal is simply fantastic. It is the rare combination of quality and quantity. I have never been disappointed with my lunch and recommend it to anyone that I can...More

Nipped in here before a rugby match. The peeling wallpaper was a fair indication of things to come. In short, the service was excellent throughout but food simply awful. The seafood chowder was a low point in what can only be describe as a dismal...More

We took the prix fixe lunch; soup (2 choices) followed by main (2 choices). Nice tomato soup but far too much red pepper for my taste; beef casserole and roasted carrots strangely unsatisfying although the carrots were lovely. BUT the single toilet is down a...More

I have been in here before before the rugby. But this time was awful. Staff just ignored the customers. They didn't have a clue. It is a not bad wee restaurant, they can't handle being busy. The staff are clueless. We only ordered coffee and...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
