We were here on friday evening. Quite a few of us. The place picked up really quickly and the music was good. But I didn't have a good experience. First, they didn't have most of the beers that we asked for. They said they had run out of it. At 8pm on a friday?? Really? On top of this we... More

We went as family group with a pretty wide age range to celebrate a Birthday with a meal and some drinks. The food was good in both quality and quantity. The value for money in this place is good in the centre of the city. The Candy Kitchen and Bar was reasonably busy even though it was early in the... More

Went for lunch on a Saturday, inside was fully booked but we found a table outside (was a lovely day). There's understandably no table service outside so we ordered two sandwiches and two puddings at the bar. We didn't wait long at all. As the prices were cheap we weren't expecting large portions, we were wrong they were perfectly sized... More

They do a lunch time deal for £5 perfect working lunch. Quick and very high quality food and a good selection of drinks. Would definitely recommend.

We came here when staying at Tigerlily just a couple doors down. This place has a lovely atmosphere with nice staff. We used an itison voucher which was brilliant value. The voucher was for two cocktails and three bites. The food and cocktails were excellent. Would definitely return, hoping they have another itison deal soon.

This place is a life-saver when you're eating on a budget! Shakes and cocktails delicious; food was also amazing, large portions and only £5 for a main! Will definitely be returning on our next visit to edinburgh. Staff were lovely also.

Amazing cocktail list for a girlie trip. Service was very good. Food was brilliant - three sides for £6 and everything on the menu under a fiver. It was just great.

Thank Yahboo

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
