Very good food, fantastic service and nice place! I had lamb, and it was just perfect! Tender, not too hot, and the just the way I like it.

Just happened upon this wonderful place. It was a quieter Sunday night. The food was as tasty Indian food we have had, really creative and different. Very good value. Would certainly recommend. No rush, attentive service enhanced the meal.

Tried the cocktails as part of the Edinburgh Cocktail Festival. Exceptional presentation, by far the most appealing of all the cocktails we had. Service was super friendly. Although we did not have any food the smell of the food as it passed our table was...unbelievably good. I can see a visit to eat on the cards. I'll start off with the positives, rhe food is nice (not the best I've ever had, but nice) The girls serving us were friendly and pleasant and the restaurant itself has a modern feel. But..... the bar service is a nightmare, really really slow, we...waited 25 minutes for our first drink, (two bottles of cider) the place serves some pretty impressive cocktails, but the bar cannot cope with it, it causes a huge delay. We were there an hour and a half and only got two drinks. We ordered one when we ordered our food and one as soon at the second was brought. It just ruined the whole experience.More

This was our first visit to Tantra and the food was really tasty. We chose to try this place as part of the Edinburgh Cocktail Festival which was advertising a specific cocktail for £5 - however when we got our bill at the end they...charged four cocktails at this price and two of the cocktails they charged at £14 each. We questioned this and the restaurant advised they wouldn’t be offering that price for any more than two cocktails each but they didn’t tell us this when ordering - we feel really disappointed in this service and did not experience this at any other bars. There is no small print to advise customers of this, which makes us feel like we have been done. We are not stingy but the restaurant shouldn’t be false advertising. We will not return after this experience.More

Amazing find. Staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was a delicious fusion of taste and beautifully presented. Would definitely eat here again.

Lovely restaurant, great ambiance, service was great, and food delicious. Can't fault it. Portions of tiffin were generous, enough for 2 to 3 people.

Whilst the decor looks phenomenal and the food looks great, I did find the taste to be quite mild. My husband said his food was good so it may have been what I ordered but I felt that the sauces were a bit watery and...I had been looking forward to some really punchy flavours. The service was a bit off when we arrived but our waiter was actually great as the evening went on. It wasn’t the best restaurant I’ve been to and unfortunately suffers from style over substance. However, servers were lovely and decor is fab!More

We had high hopes for Tantra, the menu looked interesting and the decor was striking, but in the end we were disappointed. The servers were charming and friendly, but didn't appear to be experienced or well trained. Our server took our orders for one shared...starter, 3 main courses, 2 sides to share and 3 different drinks. I was a little concerned that she didn't write this down, and when our mains arrived my fears were justified as she'd got my order wrong and I had to watch my companions starting their main courses while mine was being cooked. She said she "usually" remembered the orders, which really isn't good enough. The servers were nowhere to be seen when we wanted to order a jug of water, but they kept trying to clear the table before one of us had finished eating which we didn't like. The food was tasty, but not exceptional. We wanted to finish with coffees but were told the coffee machine had broken - this was presented as a statement of fact and not as an apology.More

First visit to Tantra this evening but definitely not our last. The food was amazing and beautifully presented… works of art! Fabulous whisky and gin cocktails too! Staff were so professional and courteous and surroundings beautiful. Excellent value for the quality of food we had....Highly recommend. Thank you everyone at Tantra👍More
