Pub across the road was mobbed so came here instead. Service was fast with a good range of beers on offer. Seating was decent and tables not too close together. We stayed a while and staff started cleaning tables. Should be ok but drinks started...More

Gone is the traditional atmosphere and decor of Bert's. Instead, refurbishment has seen to it that all character has been removed from the building and replaced with a pretentious air that has inflated pricing and removed the traditional and well-loved menu. It appears I will...More

Found this on our last night. Excellent pies. Good prices. Good beers. Really friendly young lady behind the bar. You can try a number of mini pies for £1.10 each. Lovely gravy. Also an extensive menu. Wish we had discovered it earlier.

If you want a good Scottish pub near the city centre then this, and Teuchters across the road, are right up your street, especially for watching sport. We had a few drinks in here- food also available. Good atmosphere in here. All in all a...More

Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
