Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been to this city centre restaurant many, many times over many years. It has consistently been excellent and always was and still is the best city centre restaurant - my opinion of course. In a sea of overhyped 'big name' chefs and chain restaurants, it...remains as good as it gets in Edinburgh city centre. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgable re food on menus. For fish and seafood, this is the place to go. The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant is very good too.More

Hard to find fault here. Staff pleasant and good service throughout is a great way to start any dining experience. A seafood menu to tempt anyone and almost too many delightful choices to make a quick decision....a nice problem to have. The halibut was outstanding....Good value all round including a reasonably priced wine list. Definitely a place to return to.More

Really excellent meal with fresh seafood. Soft Shell Crab was great. As was the house white wine. Would definitely return.

Delicious seafood and accommodating and delightful service. From the moment we arrived the team was delightful. Every TV big we ate was amazing! Oysters, mussels, salmon, and a crab salad were all enjoyed by the group. The portions are generous! Cocktails also tasty. Group enjoyed...cosmos, wine and an expression martini. Service was spot on even as they were wanting to close up. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Easy to access from new and old town and super walkable! Made for a fun last dinner in Edinburgh!More

Lovely experience recently on a Saturday night having dinner at Fishers in the City. Dinner was outstanding and the service was outstanding as well. We were seated promptly but we weren't rushed at all throughout our dinner. The wine list was good. I would go...back there again if I am ever lucky enough to revisit Edinburgh. A reservation is a must.More

Had delicious sea food, great wine and excellent service personnel. Cozy atmosphere. The restaurant is situated in a small road. Doesn't look special from outside, but cozy inside.

Premo seafood restaurant off the tourist path, you gotta be looking for it. Servers are spot on, prices are reasonable & the vibe is exceptional. Our selections were fresh leading to lot’s of OMG’s during our dinner. Creamy garlic mussels, prawn / brocolli tempura with...mango salsa, filet of sole & the halibut. Seriously some of the best seafood weve ever had. I will throw in one more OMG!….More

I visited twice on a recent visit to Edinburgh, once for a casual meal of fish & chips and then for a more upmarket dinner when I chose the lemon sole with nduja butter. Both meals were fresh and delicious and the service prompt and...very friendly. It's small though, so do be sure to book, although you can eat at the bar if you want to. They have a nice selection of wine too.More

This small restaurant is tucked into a small side alley. It was perfect! Totally local. Totally delicious and fresh. We wanted a light lunch ….fish and chips. The fish melted in your mouth. Best I’ve ever had! I’m sure the other offerings would not disappoint

I think the cheapest is about £18. Lots below £25. You can get a set menu at lunch so more to spend on wine :-)
