We didn’t have a booking and popped in for lunch. You know it is going to be good when you struggle with your choices and you could have eaten loads of things off the menu. We shared calamari - fresh squid and the right amount...of batter, served with fresh chillis that had some heat: very good. My wife had mussels in a Thai coconut broth which was good. I had the seafood chowder which had large lumps of fish and was delicious. Topped off with sticky toffee pudding which my wife described as one of the best she has had in years. High praise indeed. The team were attentive and helpful. Nice decor. It was packed for lunch.More

I took my family to Fishers in the City on Saturday to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. It was superb in every way. Although I was the host my dear wife did most of the arrangements. This as it turned out was not too difficult....Our contact in the Restaurant was Archie and he was excellent and very professional in guiding us through the reservation and eventually leading his team on the day. There were 11 of us including 2 children at the celebration and all of us had a wonderful meal worthy of “Granny, Mum, Mum in Law and Wife’s “ big 7 ohh. The staff in Fishers were attentive, professional and so friendly we couldn’t have picked a better place. Thank you Archie and all your staff for making Moira’s day so memorable.More

Absolutely fantastic food as expected by looking through previous reviews . Had oysters in Tempura batter , crispy squid and monkfish to start .Followed by lobster and scallops each for main, plus a couple of bottles of the best wine ever. Then we had blackberry panna...cotta with frozen blackberry compote and vanilla ice cream with frangelico and coffee.Staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble .Would definitely return if ever in Edinburgh again .11 out of 10More

We had a lovely evening here, with excellent quality sea food and friendly, helpful staff. The wine list is good, and the options of wines by the glass were unusually good. Relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.

This was our first visit back to Fishers since well before lock down and my wife and I thought that the service, (particularly “Archie”), ambience and especially the food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our night out and will definitely be back.

Fishers in the City is marvellous! Friendly and enthusiastic staff, attractive interiors, and delicious food. I had scallops and 1/2 a lobster with chips and salad. For dessert, I enjoyed the cheese selection with some Sherry. It’s a wonderful place to spend an evening. We...were well looked after by the lovely stuff and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.More

Today was my flat mate birthday but I have to say first of all he’s my lil bro than someone which I’m sharing the flat with, so… for me as a birthday present was important to be perfect! I chose this restaurant because the reviews...was very good, and to be honest the place was nice and cosy, very homely if I may say, but always very up to high standard. We love get a good fish platter with a nice glass of wine, and we wasn’t totally disappointed. The only way we were disenchanted was about the lack of attention towards our meal. We got a few bumps here and there during our lunch but I have to say we are in a very difficult moment here in Edinburgh where the lack of staff everywhere make do the job very difficult! The manager at the door was very charming and very lovely, unfortunately I didn’t catch the name, Anna, our waitress was a bunch of joy! She made, as the manager, our experience unforgettable, with them smile and good attitude. We couldn’t ask for more, maybe just a bit more attention about little details which make the difference and let you stand up among others. Thanks with all our heart for this beautiful experience! We will be back! Thanks to the manager, Anna and the kitchen crew which made our day! Lara and ParideMore

I think the cheapest is about £18. Lots below £25. You can get a set menu at lunch so more to spend on wine :-)
