Called here on a Tuesday evening quiet but it was tipping it down, good choice of cask ales and drinks suited for everyone.

Visited here for a few beers - found atmosphere rusty - and staff were rather unfriendly and in fact rude. Will not be returning any time soon.

This was clearly a locals pub. The rugby had finished on a sunday and we arrived late off the plane. The wine was nice, but the place was full of drunkards! some friendly others very lewd. I actually didn't want to go to the toilet as it was upstairs and a long way from pub itself with people who had... More

I’d like to offer my sincere apologies to the barman who “served” my friends and I last night at around 10.30pm when we dropped in for a quick dram before catching our trains home. I had the sausages and mash which was lovely and my partner had the large fish and chips which was not for the faint hearted, 2... More

I went to the hay market bar with friends while down in Edinburgh for the weekend. The waitress was very rude and short with us telling us we should have waited to be seated even though there was no sign or staff at the door! Took a long time to take our orders for drinks and again had a long... More

This is a very good pub, with a very good food menu I visited during "burns" week, and they had a special burns menu 2 course for £12, with 3 shots of whiskey for an extra £5 , so that is £1.70 per shot
