Good food, good music, polite and helpful staff. The place reaches mostly to locals, but it is turist friendly. Prices are more than reasonable.

We had dinner here, pushed by the positive reviews we read. Typical pub, a bit noisy, but we enjoyed the music. Cheap and great angus burger, even if the fish and chips we ordered wasn't that good.

Seems a lovely, well run pub. Very clean. Fabulous quick and friendly service. Food was really good. We had chicken wraps with chips. No complaints and would return.

Visited for lunch and ordered lasagne and salad. This seemed as if it was a frozen packet lasagne and very watery, no layers and no definite cheese taste. Salad consisted of old lettuce, 1/4 tomato and white onion, virtually inedible.

Ordered half-pints but the bartender drew up pints and told us 'no such thing as half-pints in Edinburgh'. Paid full price and only drank half, our fault for not walking out. Beware.

We ate the best haggis and enjoyed the super friendly atmosphere. It is super easy, and you get delicious food for a super reasonable price.

most bars will accommodate children before 9 or 10 pm if they're eating but may need to be seated outside as there is no lounge away from the bar here
