We ate lunch there today, May 21, 2022. The servers were rude and their attitude and behavior were inexcusable. Upon entering the Steading, an older gentleman asked if we had a booking. We did not. He just started walking away but we followed and he...rudely pointed to a table. We sat down. Ten minutes later, a young girl asked if we wanted to order. We ordered drinks. A different server brought us drinks. The first girl asked for our food order, by that time, our beverage glasses were empty, yet she just walked away after we ordered our food and my husband tried to catch her to order a second drink but she walked away. She passed by our table 3 times after that. Finally, my husband caught a different server and ordered beverage refills for us. We waited and waited for our food order. His fish and chips were the worst he has eaten and my seafood spaghetti was cold and awful. The calamari and mussels were very rubbery and not chewable. I had to remove them from my dish and just eat the shrimp, which were tiny, the noodles and tomatoes. We were in Scotland for 3 weeks and never had such terribly rude service or food.More

Have been attending meetings here for several years and on my last couple of visits this year have had my assistance dog with me who was welcomed into the restaurant area with no problems. On one occasion we were seated in the conservatory area and...there was another, non working, dog in that day. However, on this visit I was told he would not be allowed in the restaurant area which is a breach of the disability act Wanted to highlight this to other assistance dog users as I don't want them to have the same experience. For info guide dogs and hearing dogs are also assistance dogs.More

Visited here for meal, very disappointed with the surroundings around my table where I was seated. They really need to looking at their cleaning & a word with their cleaner, if they have one. The pillar at my table was covered in cob webs and...the ledge was thick with dust, clearly not done in a very long time. The food was okay, but the fajitas where swimming in oil. The chicken burger was like rubber.More

Called in on Sunday, 1st May. Ask if we had a booking, that's when customer care deteriorated. Willie Storrie marched through establishment (presumably expecting us to follow) then pointed to a free table. The waiting staff were a delight and relief from front of house...management. The food excellent. Witnessed Willie talking to himself saying he was doing everything himself!!! Which was not true. Replace him and you'll have a superb team.More

Very disappointed with the fish and chips today. Not a patch on what they used to serve. The batter was soggy on a very thin little fish. The staff were friendly but unfortunately we will not be back.

We have been to the Steading a few times now and the food has been okay. We went on a Saturday for lunch and we were disappointed with the meal. Lasagne was dry, the fish cakes were so small and definitely not value for money,...the fish and chips were okay and a chicken ceasar salad was not as good as some I have had. The drinks are reasonably priced and a good selection. Will not be back for a while.More
