Good location just 10 minutes walk from Waverley station. Romantically decorated for Valentine's day. Helpful friendly and Italian staff. Very good pizza with lots of prosciutto crudo and rocket leaves; Sheila had a very good cannelloni. Good bottle of Valpolicella but at £19 was a...More

I booked this restaurant for 4 of us for a pre theatre meal and we were not disappointed! We ended up ordering from the À La Carte menu. We had varying starters and 4 different pasta dishes and ended with clean plates all round! The...More

I ate here solo on Valentine’s Day and the staff were great. The food was tasty if a little formulaic for an Italian. But I did enjoy the meal. The steak is served with a very small portion of vegetables on a separate plate which...More

We had a lovely early evening meal at Mamma Roma. Service was quick without being overly so. Staff were amazing with the kids. Importantly the pizza was REALLY good! I had Pepperoni and Mrs M had Verdure. Both very tasty and well cooked.

We had a pre theatre meal and the food was very nice. Service was a little slow, so allow plenty of time is going to theatre. Good value for money and friendly staff.

Dined here as we had travelled to Edinburgh to see Shen Yun at the Playhouse (awesome) just across the street. We certainly were not disappointed. Went for the pre-theatre menu which at £17.95 was terrific value for 4 courses. Although the place was packed our...More

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
