Six of us had lunch here today. Two of our group had not been before and they were impressed. The restaurant was full which is a sign of it's popularity. We all chose from the fixed price lunchtime menu - 2 courses plus coffee and...More

We dropped in without a booking and waited 10 mins for a table, which was no problem as the whisky menu had lots to choose from and the barman was great. We ate from the midweek set menu, amazing value at £9.95 for 4 courses...More

We had a pleasant lunch here, the location is just off the High Street close to city attractions. We chose from the fixed price menu, which had a choice of 4 starters, mains and puddings. There is a good selection of wines, cocktails and an...More

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Dined in Michelin star restaurants in Edinburgh and Michael Neave's Kitchen and Whisky Bar is still my favourite!

They have a pretty extensive list of whisky and my companion really enjoyed what she chose. The dinner was well-prepared, plates were well constructed and service was attentive. I think you would not be disappointed choosing this restaurant.

The meal was fantastic - we had pannacotta, scallops and salmon for starters and the Guinea fowl and the roe deer for mains, absolutely amazing. Wait staff attentive, but not obtrusive and great array of whiskeys for all palates. Highly reccomended.

Blimey, this restaurant was very good indeed. Perfect scallops, a piece of halibut good enough for Jehovah, an excellent cheese board and all the above tied together with attentive but friendly service. Highly recommended. Don't miss a visit here if you're in Edinburgh. Mr Dub.

We visit Edinburgh for 2 or 3 weeks each year and this was our first visit to this restaurant. Restaurant is fairly small (50 covers?) and was comfortably full. Service was impeccable, food excellent and overall an experience to be repeated.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
