Fantastic place to go if you need to lose weight. Not a chance you'll want to eat anything. Don't waste time deciding what to order, pointless exercise, time better spent watching paint dry or counting sheep. Unlikely you will get what you order anyway. Mexican restaurant serving pasta. There's a clue in there! Did you ever see a guy refuse... More

Are here tonight - early dinner (about 6pm) so the place was quiet. First time been in and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the interior was although the warm air blowing did smell a bit toilety. Shared a Cajun chicken nachos as a starter which was really just a big pile of crisps with a bit of cheese and... More

We ate here on Friday. I ordered my starter and the waiter (a small Italian man) brought two. He brought out two of the same starter. When I told him I had only asked for one he very rudely began to argue that I asked for two and had specifically said this. Rude does not even describe this man. We... More

This was the 4th restaurant we tried to book a table and we weren't disappointed. Friendly welcome and lovely atmosphere and furnishings. Just had main course - steak tasty and cooked to perfection for us all. Swopped chips for a salad - crisp fresh and plenty of it. Wine good selection and reasonably priced. Will return on our next visit... More

Found this by accident when trying to find somewhere to eat as all of Edinburgh was full due to the Calcutta cup. Friendly service in a lovely clean modern restaurant. The stater of chilli nachos was fab as were both the main courses - rib eye steak and burgers. Very reasonably priced. Service slightly slow but to be fair they... More

I ordered tempura prawns and burger, both were delicious and loved fact burger came with skinny fries not chunky chips. My other half chose cheesy garlic bread and steak. Both were lovely. My husband requested a rare steak and it actually came like that - usually that's not the case! The red wine was a bargain - 1 litre of... More

Just had a great meal! Used our taste card and all came to £30 for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 desert, 2 cocktails and a glass of prosecco. Service was excellent, aswell as the food! The place was smart and modern and really enjoyed it! Definately would recommended for anyone who is looking for steak/ burger/ cocktails!

We also found this by accident and we are glad we did. The prices made us think we would be having small portions but this was not the case. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the tuna sandwich was huge! The two lads who served us were friendly and polite, and the decor was of high standard.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
