Spent our last night at this hotel so decided to have dinner here at The Bothy. They fit us in with no reservations and we were seated in Pats section. What a wonderful server. She made some great recommendations of what to order and we shared some great starters, had the bridie and a chicken pie that melted in your... More

Booked this for a birthday meal for 6 - when we arrived the Bothy wasn't aware that we were coming but the staff soon made a space for us. Had we known that they'd be showing the Hearts v Celtic game on a large TV in the bar/restaurant we would not have bothered and gone elsewhere. The meal itself was... More

Lovely looking bar, service was good. I had a burger which for close to £13 wasn't great quality, meat seemed a bit cheap. Friend had fish which she really enjoyed.

I was very appreciative about dining at the Bothy (Murrayfield hotel) after reading the reviews on here. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised. As we were staying at the hotel we decided we wanted to dine here after a busy day in the city centre. When entering the restaurant we greeted by a lovely young lady called Kerry,... More

Unacceptable. It was a steak pie and the pastry was wafer thin and uncooked. I got an apology and the meal was not paid for.

Visited here for lunch with a friend on 2nd Feb 2017. We were lucky enough to get a window table and we enjoyed a very nice 'late-breakfast' for lunch. My friend had poached eggs with root-veg crisps, while I opted for the Vegetarian breakfast. There was no problem in my asking for the baked beans to be substituted for a... More

Hello DanieleIannarelli Thanks for your review, we are delighted you chose to dine with us, and enjoyed the meal. Disappointing to hear the service was lacking towards the end. Seems we have fallen just short on this occasion. I hope this will not put you off rejoining us for brunch again. Thanks for your time in giving us such valuable... More

A meal for 6 people on a Saturday night. The place was reasonably busy but certainly not full. We all arrived as couples separately over a period of about 10 minutes. During that time each couple ordered some initial gin and tonics. The same waitress served each time and each time when she was asked what gin's they had she... More

I had dinner at the Bothy today , to say the quality of the food was poor it an under statement, steak sandwich meat uncooked and and unable to eat. Burger unable to identify if in fact it was beef or sausage slicing . Staff very nice, manager very limited with his customer service skills. All in all very disappointing... More

We had a family function with private dinning and the service was extremely poor. Not once did anyone move one glass from the table. The butter and cold water had been on the table 3 to 4 hours before we arrived as we had been in earlier to put banners up. I complained and no one ever got back to... More
