We were going to Queens Hall just up the road and was looking for somewhere nearby for food. Read the reviews and liked the idea of a locally sourced meat for burgers. Burger I had was just with cheese and very nice, you could taste...the difference over the usual burgers from other establishments. The portions of waffle fries others had were very generous. Decent selection of beers. Quite a small place, we were lucky to get the only empty table at the time. A very eclectic clientele and a nice feel to it. Staff were pleasant.More
Great place to visit - has a great atmosphere. The staff are really welcoming. Not bad for gluten free beers either. Great place!
We popped in yesterday with friends after seeing a show at the festival and unfortunately the bar person who served us was very unhelpful. We asked for specific types of drinks and rather than give us substitutes she just said no we don't have it!...So we offered substitutes which they had and we ordered. We only stayed for one drink and left. Not friendly at all.More
The staff were amazing and friendly. The food came out very quickly - the Chorizo Mac and Cheese is a must have! It was tasty and a generous serving. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was amazing and despite there being a couple of tiny hiccups the...staff were apologetic and just generally pleasant which made all the difference. The atmosphere was lovely, good music, clean and cosy. Very nice cocktails to finish off!More
We came on an evening prior to a pub quiz so most tables were already reserved. We wanted some food however the majority of meals were no longer available and we did not arrive late in the evening.
This was a good old pub. Nothing fancy does what it says on the tin. Nice nachos with pulled pork and a couple of drinks. Average prices.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere and lovely food. Our bartender Robyn was great, friendly and knowledgeable about gin and chips. Terrific all round, highly recommended!
Came for a drink and some quick food on a weekday night. We had booked a table, however when we arrived we were told that there were no tables available, only to be told moments later that there was in fact a table available for...us? One particular member of staff was quite short and it took us several orders to get our drinks and food. The drinks, food and atmosphere were all good, so perhaps we just caught a bad day when it came to the service.More
The food was delicious and at an affordable price. We got a 3 dishes of small bites to share and it was plenty for 4. Student discount available in Greenmantle. The atmosphere was nice like any other pub. The bar is clean.
Decided to give this place a shot after a some sightseeing with my family. So happy we did. It was late afternoon, so not crowded, and such a welcome relief after walking down that way and not finding many other atmospheric options that also allowed...kids. The food was almost a surprise it was so good and the service was exceptional. Would definitively recommend this place to others.More
I have tried most of the things on the menu now and have always been extremely pleased with the quality of food and service! Caters very well to vegetarians. Definitely one of my go to meals in Edinburgh.
it is not always easy to find a tasty vegetarian burger in a pub which also offers very meaty options... This place however, managed to tick all the boxes of choice, tasty, fresh, and well presented. I would suggest to go on a Tuesday as...they offer 2 for the price if one, which is the best value. Portions are on the the slightly smaller side, but other than that I thought it was super and I will most definitely return for another occasion.More
busy little bar in the citys south bridge area never had food but reasonable prices and dogs are allowed in worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great burgers and a good pint - music/football was a little loud but I really enjoyed my meal. Nice atmosphere.
