Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet my expectations. The food was bland, but also too sweet for some reason. The waiter offered us popadom, but failed to mention the price. In my experience, this is often given for free in Indian restaurants. We got too...much of it, the sauces were not good, and the popadom itself was too salty, and the price was too high. I ordered the «Tikka Massalam» with garlic naan for my main dish. The sauce was too sweet, almost like a porridge, and the chicken was dry. I have never experienced dry chicken in an Indian dish. The naan was also too sweet, lacked salt, and had a very faint taste of garlic. The waiters also seemed stressed and wanted to clean our table very fast. The price for the whole meal was shockingly high considering the quality of the food. All in all, very disappointed.More

Just had the most amazing meal here, curries were full of flavor, nice chunks of juicy meat, can’t recommend enough. Staff were friendly and willing to help

Had a nice night at Vinyasa with a good selection of food to choose from. Quality was great and so was the service. We will definitely go back 👍

We holiday in Edinburgh annually every year for 16 years and since this restaurant opened we visit each time. The food is second to none, and the service equally so. We honestly cannot fault anything except they are not more local to where we live...as we'd be there all the time.More

A very nice meal to be honest , service was good , food very tasty , If I was going to be picky , put table clothes on the table , have more ciders to choose from and have a staff toilet , it’s not...a good sight when kitchen staff are coming to use customer toilets with their blue gloves on and don’t take them off before / after using the loo !!!!! Found online and visited for dinner. The menu is extensive so it was a difficult decision but we opted for lamb korma and lamb rogan josh with saffron rice. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked. We ate it all :)

Second visit for my friend and I. We stayed at travel lodge just opposite, just off Royal Mile so a fantastic location. The food was as delicious as ever and staff friendly, helpful and efficient.

Great starters and mains. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for Indian food. The briyania and masala were great. The briyania had a great flavor and was not over powering. The Tikka masala is sweet. The tandoori chicken was great in both.

My wife and I had the vegetable biryani, lamb chop starter, mutar paneer, and garlic naan all of which were excellent. Service and ambiance were all first rate. Highly Recommended.

Three of us ate there before attending the Tattoo. The restaurant is clean, well decorated and comfortable. The staff were attentive and engaged very well with us. The food selection was wide, when it arrived it was tasty and delicious; it was reasonably priced and...good value. Some reviews mention having to pay £10 for a jug of tap water, but that is definitely NOT true. We enjoyed our experience at Vinyasa and would definitely eat there again.More

Wasn’t too impressed really looked forward to this after the viewing the menu , however when we arrived we got handed a ‘festival menu’ it’s half of the food took off the online menus and prices increased to make money off the fringe festival goers.... Absolute money making con and service was rude . Also didn’t think it was hygienic how the kitchen staff kept floating between the toilets and kitchen with their aprons on either very bizarreMore

This was a returning visit for us, slightly odd experience (not quite as odd as the last time we were there when the entire Scottish Labour Party front bench were there too, but that's another story and not really a reflection on the restaurant’s service)....The food was as good as ever, but the service was pretty off. There seemed to be an army of young waiters but none of them seem to have had any training in how to deal with customers. Pretty rude and offhand. Worse, we felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant, which given how little the waiters were doing to make this a nice experience, we decided to slow up and not let ourselves be rushed out. OK this is the height of the Edinburgh Festival, so we assumed that the rushing was because they had some kind of large booking coming. So, we watched with amusement as we sat there and the restaurant got more and more empty and no one else seemed to be arriving. Maybe everyone else had heard about the service too. Not sure I'll be back.More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
