Delicious food & outstanding service! We opted for the steak pie & the fish pie as mains. Very tasty! Very reasonable priced also, £100 (including tip) for 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 desert, a bottle of wine and 2 Irish coffee's!

Me and my boyfriend visited Scran & Scallie a few months ago, I forgot to leave a review then but I will try my best to remember everything and write it now. Holy barley risotto.. I've never tried a better one. That is one thing...More

Six ‘older’ men out for a long, lazy Friday lunch will not be everyone’s favourite table! However all the staff at our first visit to the Scran & Scallie were welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed and the menu had enough choice...More

The food here is really really scummy. Like really scrummy. I had the pie which was enormous and really rich. My fiancée had the smoked haddock and kedgeree which she raves about. I’m only dropping a score because of the prices of the mains (pie...More

Delicious cocktails to start, excellent wine menu (we stuck to Piemonte White and Red), we asked for the red to be situated close by and to be opened whilst we enjoyed our cocktails and white wine - not a problem. Oysters and bone marrow starters,...More

The place gets really loud which is not necessarily a bad thing, I just wouldn't recommend this for a romantic evening for two. Food was prepared with precision and for the most parts with thought. The gluten free fish and chips were a bit too...More

Six of us enjoyed a lunchtime here with my nephew recommending the beef burger and my nieces the fish and chips. Their chocolate milkshakes went down well and the staff were extremely friendly.

We managed to get a last minute booking for 9pm on NY day. The neighborhood was quiet but there was The Scran & Scallie bustling with people and smells of great food. We had the pumpkin soup with poached egg which wasn’t to our liking...More

Tried this restaurant for dinner. turns out we had made a reservation for the wrong time but staff were great and we ate at the bar. Asked what was recommended and it was suggested I have the steak pie. It was excellent as well as...More

We chose mainstream fish&chips and a day special with cod. Both really well prepared, in a basic but tasty way, and made with culinary pride. We finished by sharing (I ate most because my wife was full) a sticky toffee puddin’ that was just as...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement
