A great choice of food from a detailed menu. Decent beers and ales. Service spot on and although it was very busy we didn't wait ling for our food... More

This is a genuine old style pub that has a warm welcome, interesting interior and well above average meals at keen prices. Went during the week and there were a few other people just finished eating with huge empty plates which is an indicator of the quality and quantity of food. Ordered the Rib Eye Steak and Cod Bake. Both... More

I'm a huge fan of the pub atmosphere, and food selections. This place is pretty typical of all UK pubs. A fair selection of Ales/beers, and the usual pub fare...soups, sandwiches, fish/chips, etc. It was a short walk from our b&b, and we enjoyed it greatly.

What a find! Visited here NYE for an early tea. We travelled from Stoke on trent. We had steak fillet, the haggis and lamb shank. The fillet I had cooked blue and can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever had! The chips are home cooked, even the salad with Stilton on was yummy! Would drive to... More

Came with a friend quite late and ordered the haddock and home made chips. Very large portion of fish! It was decilious and I would certainly return. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A lovely experience.

Had a delightful Christmas lunch at the Old Bell today. The table was tastefully set, the staff were absolutely first class, attentive, timeous and great sense of humour. The food was extremely tasty, beautifully presented and could not have been better cooked. The endless coffee was an unexpected bonus.

Popped in here early one friday for drinks and dinner. We managed to get a table, I would recommend booking though to avoid disappointment. Food was really good. A few of us had burgers and they were really tasty. Good portion sizes. Nice atmosphere.

Not the biggest menu but ok. Goats cheese toasted club sent back as cold retuned with a new version with lack of goats cheese and frankly not good. Staff offered replacement and I didn't pay. Husband enjoyed his fish and chips.
