Have stayed here before, this time the breakfast was not so good, you couldn’t take off the full English th8ngs you didn’t like or want, shame as I had to settle for bacon an pancakes, which was a disappointment, as the bacon was undercooked an covered in white slime, should have been streaky bacon well cooked with pancakes. The full English the black pudding my husband couldn’t eat as so over cooked, staff was friendly, room was lovely but bed was.like climbing Mount Everest far too high, although comfortable. Room 6

Positives - City centre which is great for if just wanting to have a look around the old town and historical places. Staff are great & very helpful if looking to book anywhere for dinner, recommendations & even to help find a taxi for our trip back to airport.
Breakfast was beautiful with an amazing full cooked Scottish breakfast that I wish I could have let my family taste back home!

We popped in here as was quiet whilst everywere else seemed rammed on a bank holiday weekend. Price as expected in a tourist area was on the more expensive side.
The items we wanted were not available, which given current climate is understandable. When we did order they got three out of four meals wrong which is a tad annoying.
The haggis was the worst I have had on Scotland since arriving (I've only had it four times admittedly).
Very disappointing

Popped in for a sandwich and drink yesterday lunch time during Fringe.
Basic menu as kitchen closed no prices on photo copy.
Ordered 3 cheese and ham sandwiches 1 tuna sweetcorn. Waitress returned only 2 cheese and ham left so happy with 2 of each. Handful of vegetable crisps on each plate.
Very thin little content in sandwich. Definitely processed ham and cheese. Tuna bulked out with mayonnaise
2 bottles corona 1 small white wine spritzer and 1 diet coke
Total cost £54
Each sandwich cost £9 ! ! What a rip off
Spoilt our visit to The Fringe

We have been a number of times. And on Friday we felt food was particularly poor. Burgers were chewy, buns were soggy.
Had to tell staff member 3times we were ordering food, anfer being sat down with only drink menu.
Covid rules were not being implemented. Especially for customers going to their rooms... No masks. No one challenging them either. Didnt feel safe. Happened many times while we sat at door nearest rooms.
Drinks are always nice, but the burgers were no where near the quailty I would've expected for the price.
Won't be back unfortunately.

My daughter and I booked a table for the England v Ukraine match in the Euros. The bar's website made it sound the perfect place to watch such an important game, with lots of screens for customers to view the match. Keen to ensure there were no glitches, I rang a few days beforehand to check that our table had a good view, even though we had requested this at time of booking. I was assured that table 18 had a perfect view, no problems at all and we felt reassured Sadly, the weather was very wet so we had to get an Uber from our rental apartment. Upon arrival, about 15 mins before kick off, excited and eager to take our seats, we were shown to our "perfect view" table only to discover the screen was at a ridiculous height and angle, the only other screen was broken and there were fixed lights obscuring the screen! We would have had a heck of a crick in our necks and a huge bit of the screen missing where the light was! We asked to move to another table with a slightly less impeded view and were refused "because THEY'VE come to watch the football!". Yes, so have we!! It was all very stressful and embarrassing and ultimately we realised we had no choice but to pay for another taxi and watch the game at our accommodation instead. My daughter's partner had arranged for a surprise bottle of Prosecco to be left on our table, fortunately unopened so it could be refunded. The manager refused to give us the bottle free of charge as a goodwill gesture for all the upset with the misleading information we'd been given. We found ourselves standing outside in the pouring rain desperately trying to get a taxi so we didn't miss any of the game. Oh and we missed kick off so thanks for that! Fortunately, England were victorious which made up for a truly dreadful experience at this place. Our advice - if you're a sports fan, don't bother!

Dear Jul13k,
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to our venue.
We are sad that your experience with us was not up to your expectations.
We would like to apologise for one of our screen not being in function as we noticed this problem with only a short time left before the start of the match.
The table booked for you was yes with a good view but unfortunately it was on the part of the venue covered by the non functioning screen and we could not offer an alternative table as all tables were already booked.
Despite we don't consider ourselves as a sport venue we had great feedbacks regarding our big screens coming from the ceiling being fully booked for all the major sport events.
Once again apologies for what happened on the day.
Kindest regards

We decided to have breakfast here as the nice cafes were all booked up.
There weren’t many people in and it wasn’t the warmest of welcomes. The waiter was pretty disinterested and made us feel like an inconvenience.
Unfortunately, the food was equally as poor. To be fair, the egg was cooked really well but the quality of the other ingredients were not great.
We definitely won’t return and wouldn’t recommend. Most certainly the worst meal of our stay in Edinburgh.

What a terrible experience. We. went in at about 9:30pm, after visiting a few pubs in the area we decided to have a coffee to wake us up a little. The place was not busy, about 10 people, all of which were eating. They had 3 staff, one waiting tables one behind the bar and one on hot drinks. We sat down, and after 40 mins no one had come to see us so I went to the bar. I ordered two lattes, that are a little expensive at over £4 each. Sat down and waited for the drinks. They arrived in what can only be described as small cappuccino cups, overflowing which sloshed onto the saucers when placed at the table. Both drinks were warm at best and didn't really taste great. Normally I would have said something and refused to pay, but we were on holidays and didn't want to cause any grief. Terrible service and terrible coffee

Came in for breakfast - only half a dozen tables accupied, yet it took 30 minutes to take and receive our order. We weren’t in a hurry, thank goodness. The quality of the food seemed good, but the tea was weak and the Eggs Royale were cold. Not ‘not hot’ - cold. Scottish breakfast was good and properly hot. The staff pleasant and nice, but not attentive. Spoon was dirty. Over all disappointed with the experience. Too bad.

Watch out for overcharging.
Added 10% service charge plus overcharged. They did refund but overall poor.
No one in there suprisingly. Notice about Service charge is about 10 metres above the bar and not readily visible. Did not wish to pay this as not good enough and only 2 of us for a quick drink stop.
Overall tried to charge us 15% over the actual price. Get your bill printed off.
Very poor quality powdered mildly warm hot chocolate. Poor chocolate torte. Poor toilets. Shame Wrote to them but no reply so obviously not concerned about customers.

This was the first place I went it when arriving in Edinburgh, I was staying over the road so stopped off here for some lunch - It didn’t disappoint. The staff were so friendly and the service was great, all positive stuff. It was probably the best ham and cheese toastie I’ve ever had too. I’ll definitely be returning!

We had an amazing experience today at the inn on the mile. We where lucky to get a table, with Edinburgh being really full and busy. The Food and drinks were delicious, but the most amazing part about our experience was our waiter, Euan. Euan did an amazing job at making us feel really welcomed and cared for. He is such a kind person and was always checking in on us. Thanks to Euan we had a really nice experience. <3

Chose here because was close to the venue we were going to that evening and its a lovely building. We weren’t disappointed. TVs showing sport but not noisy at all, so There’s a nice casual atmosphere inside and staff were friendly and attentive. Helped us to choose cocktails and wine which we might like. All lovely. My hubby had the Haggis, neeps & tatties with a delicious whiskey sauce. My burger was juicy and the fries were super crispy. Service was great and it was all a great start to our evening. Top tip - try the smoky almonds !

This place is situated on the Royal Mile and has a grand exterior so we wanted to see what it looked like inside. The pub had an industrial chic style with high ceilings. We chose to sit in a booth area but it does have regular tables too. We received friendly and attentive service. We tried the Caledonian ale which we liked and had the croque monsieur toasted sandwich and chips. Worth giving a try

Stayed for one night. The staff went over and beyond to fix an issue with my room being damaged from a previous guest. The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. I was so please with my stay and would definitely stay again. Breakfast was delicious and their cocktails were as well.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
