We had a really good experience here. The seating was a bit tight but we did go on a Friday night when it was very busy. Lovely atmosphere and music with service to match. We would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Staying nearby so decided to take a stroll into Stockbridge to look at the restaurants to see what appealed. It didn't take us long to decide on Rollo. The menu looked so interesting and different from others in the area. Fortunately, they were able to fit us in. It's a tiny place which adds to the appeal. Great atmosphere. Service... More

Visited on a very blustery day. For a Tuesday the restaurant was extremely busy, thankfully we had booked. The food was excellent (I had the belly pork), and the side dishes scrummy. Although the menu is limited, the friends who I visited with, assured me that the food is consistently good, and continue to enjoy the menu. Staff helpful and... More

Had a very enjoyable dinner in Rollo, our first visit here but we'll definitely be back. Relaxed and comfortable inside. Varied and interesting menu, was hard to choose, and the quality of the food we had was superb. The haggis bonbons were especially delicious! Friendly and professional service. Made us want to move to Stockbridge!!

Food was ok, certainly not spectacular, but priced accordingly. We had a bottle of wine between two, and asked if we would like another to then be told they needed the table back 15mins before our time. We were very aware of when the table had to be available, however being constantly reminded and hounded spoilt the evening. Not interested... More

We went to Rollo after a visit last year and it did not disappoint! Cosy atmosphere, delicious wines and friendly staff. My top tip? Order the haggis bon bons!

So the Restaurant is small. My daughter suggested we come here and we walked in about 7.00 ish and given a table by the door. Really quick helpful service, food was excellent and hot. WE had four dishes which came to £44.90, we were both completely full. We stayed at the Raeburn and this was a minute's walk away, perfect.... More

Great food and superb staff but really too many tables all squashed together. You can hear everyone's conversation! Really not too expensive either.

Really good food, excellent service and very reasonably priced carafes of wine. Lovely atmosphere, not a huge restaurant but this added to the ambience. Recommended by a friend and can understand why!

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
