Hello, MOst people will read between the lines of this ridiculous review and see that you obviously hold a grudge for some reason or you have an interest in some other local rival business. We do not use frozen chips of any description at Riccarton...More

We were flying out of Edinburgh airport early next day, but couldn't get hotel near airport (found out it was the weekend of the Edinburgh marathon). Booked room from previous reviews. A little shocked when we got there regarding how loud the bar was, but...More

Have visited the restaurant a few times and found the food to be very good on all occasions. The menu is fairly typical pub grub but reliable. On recent visit one order was delivered incorrectly and found the staff response to this very disappointing. I...More

Returned here for a bar meal as the menu previously was a cut above your average bar supper fayre and food was interesting and good. I had been looking forward to experiencing the Parmesan soufflé. Very disappointed to find the menu has changed and is...More

Don’t think they expected us even though we reserved a table, that’s the way it felt. Waiter didn’t know the specials. Food was good, shame about the rugby noise. I understand people enjoy watching the rugby, however this should be separated from the dining tables....More

I went to the Riccarton with 16 others for my leaving lunch from work. The food was nice. However, there was only two guys serving in the restaurant which meant service was really slow, ie I waited 15 minutes for a drink on arrival and...More

Visited for an afternoon coffee with a couple of friends on 1st Feb 2018. Seemed warm, cosy and welcoming, with an open log-fire. I risked a double espresso (I say "risked" because - in this country - it's rare to find a decent, good coffee/espresso)....More
