Great little chippy near the beach. Well priced with polite staff and good fish! Just a shame the weather wasn't a little better...

I am very thankful that I have had the luck to find that place as I couldn't eat fish since I moved to the UK🤞 the fish is fresh and of very good quality, and the people are amazing( see Mediterranean😊)

Had a few days away in Edinburgh so decided to go to Portobello Beach. While there we decided to have a takeaway Fish and Chips to eat on the front and found this remarkable place. The Haddock and chips were the best I have had...in a long time and the couple who own the establishment were lovely, genuine people. Could not fault the Golden Bite at all and will certainly be back when next in Edinburgh.More

Would definitely recommend going to the Golden Bite, only 10 mins from Portobello beach. It has great customer service and some real good food.

This is simply the best chippy in Portobello. You'll have to wait is every piece of fish is freshly cooked to order, it's worth the wait - outstanding. Proper old fashioned chips. Just go and try it, you won't be disappointed

The authentic fish and chips served here is excellent. The batter was light and crispy and the fish was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best fish and chips experiences I have had. Will definitely have another serving before leaving Portobello

Honestly this place has the best fish & chips I've ever eaten. The owners are so lovely, and remembered us (and our orders) from last week, which was a really nice touch on top of an already great meal. It's unusual where we're from to...find a chippy that sells anything other than processed cod, so a freshly made haddock supper was an incredible find, and we were kept very entertained with some chatter while we waited. I'd recommend this to anyone in Portobello, 100%.More

I cannot recommend this place enough! My future wife and I fancied fish and chips so went for a walk to find somewhere, we stumbled across this absolute gem of a place. We were greeted by what I believe was husband and wife, who were...so incredibly friendly. The gentleman made us aware that they do not have a lot all ready cooked and waiting as they like to serve as fresh as possible, especially the haddock (which he sounded very proud of). We put our order in to the friendly lady at the till and happily waited, the gentleman made us aware the fish was cooking and will be ready shortly. Once ready the daughter came out to help pack everything up. Once everything was packed the gentleman walked up to us and wished us both good luck moving forward (my partner being heavily pregnant). We ordered fish and chips for 6 people, everything was cooked fresher than I have experienced before by people that are friendlier than I could have wished for. My partner and I walked away with the biggest smiles on our faces and discussed our experience all the way back to where we were staying. Oh and please let's not forget everything tasted AMAZING!! Please please visit this place, you will not be disappointed. I never leave reviews but this chip shop deserves as much recognition as possible!!!More
