Went there with friends for drinks in May 2017. We all chose cocktails from the G.I.Y. (gin it yourself) menu wich was alot of fun and most of the drinks were delicious. Because of the loud music we couldn't speak to one another and left after only one drink. Cozy and fun bar but sadly to loud for us.

For £25.00 per head you can experience of sampling some exquisite gins. Not only that, the Leader will explain each of the steps, teaching you all about different gins. We sampled a host of Gins - most I have never heard of before settling down on my choice for the evening. It was such a great atmosphere, that we returned... More

Just got back from a couple of hours at this wonderful little bar. Couldn't find it straight away as it's a basement bar. It's under The big Huxley pub on the corner. The entrance is lit with fairy lights. All the waiters were lovely, but especially the guy originally from Suffolk (didn't get his name). I didn't have a clue... More

Found this one on this site and what a find. Lovely cellar bar with table service so not cramped with everyone stood around the bar Amazing selections of gin had to be 50 plus. Sharing platters available to pick at great value for money. Loved the make your own gin cocktail, choose a glass, choose a gin and a flavour... More

Booked the Gin Masterclass for me and my Boyfriend and so glad we did. It was one of the best things we did on our trip to Edinburgh. The Bar is so cool and the interior is great, its underground, so cozy and unique. Our guide was really friendly and knowledgable and we were fully interested the entire time as... More

Well worth a visit and amongst the better of the many gin bars that have popped up in the city. Very welcoming staff team, and has plenty of "old world" charm about it. Excellent range of gins, togther with some imaginative cocktail creations. A modest range of light meals look attractive, if not particularly cheap. Overall very enjoyable place to... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
