I think this is the third time we've been here and the food is always good. Peroni on draught. Service was efficient and good but one of the older gentlemen was a bit brusque! Baalin Betty (a frequent visitor to Italy) said the lasagne was better here than over there. My pizza was also braw.

At 6.75 the lunch deal was great value with a decent selection of dishes. However the crust on my pizza however was too hard, although the toppings were good. The ice cream for desert was a bit blink and you'll miss it.

Very good three course lunch for just £6.75. Plenty of choices for mains and starter but only one option for dessert. Food was very good and main course portion good size. Staff friendly and service was quick. Only negative is the lack of space as the tables are set too close to each other and difficult to get through when... More

The restaurant was busy and we were stuck at the back outside the toilets / kitchen door. The 2 people who followed us in were given a table for 4 by the bar, maybe it was my jeans that did it. The meal was excellent and the plonk was reasonable. It was unfortunate that the proprietor (if that was who... More

£6.75 for a 3 course lunch at Hannover street! And this is not only weekdays, but also saturday. Really cheap and delicious food. Good vegeteraian options as well. I had the minestrone soup and pene arabiata. Will definitely go again. The ambience is average. Spacewise also really squeezed. The staff was very sweet and friendly.

Have visited this Italian restaurant once before and was impressed by the food, portion sizes and cost. Visited again this time before heading to the theatre. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and piping hot. We were left to eat a leisurely pace and were not being rushed at all by the staff albeit they were always... More

The food is absolutely stunning, such a good price too. Every time we come here we leave with smiles. The portions of the food is very good, not to small and not to big either. Me and my boyfriend always feel like we are in Italy when eating in the restaurant, very authentic feel. Would highly recommend! Amazing!

Another fantastic meal!! Never disappoints. Very reasonably priced, cannot fault. Real authentic Italian food better than chains like Zizzi or Prezzos etc although I enjoy eating there too. The house white wine was lovely too!!

We were so happy to stumble across Bar Napoli, obviously very popular as it was full and after we had eaten there we totally understood why. The food was authentic, plentiful and delicious. There was a great atmosphere, the smiling chatting and laughter was infectious. Thank you so much. We will be returning.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
