Had a fabulous meal at Cafe St Honore a couple of weeks ago. Starters of stornoway black pudding and cullin skink delicious. Salt beef and venison mains perfection. Thank you for a lovely dining experience and super service.

Visited on a cold winter's evening. The restaurant is tucked away up a lane but easy to find from George / Queen Street. It has a certain charm in the obvious gallic style. We opted for the goats cheese and salmon starters - the former...More

Good food and efficient service. The set lunch is excellent. Wine and beer list looked OK, though was on sparkly water.

Eight of us dined here for a 21st birthday meal. Situated in a cobbled back lane near Edinburgh's centre, there was a very warm welcome. There isn't a bar, but we went straight to our table and drinks came promptly. Excellent food all round. Would...More

Had lunch with the family and whilst the food was good it didn't set any pulses racing. The menu choices are great and do showcase Scottish produce. Our starters were: Cullen skink, which was really delicious and filling, smoked salmon, and black pudding with poached...More

Cafe St Honore is a firm favourite, and does not disappoint. Good food, good service, pleasant surroundings. Can be a bit crowded in there - but I suppose that is the authentic bistro experience!

Overnighting in Edinburgh, I happened on this backstreet resto by chance, admittedly tempted by a signboard mentioning "Scottish chef of the year 2014". I wasn't disappointed. It was a toss up between a really well priced set menu and some interesting a la carte stuff....More

I visited Cafe St Honore with a group of friends to celebrate my friend's birthday. The set menu was brilliant value and great choices to pick from! The coq au vin especially was a highlight! The atmosphere is great, bringing back memories of dining in...More

We visited as walk s last month and although they were busy they accommodated us and it was great. Especially nice was the beef blade and pork belly. Quite dark but very atmospheric. Unfortunately male and female looks are shared - only bad point.

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
