Really great experience. Tasting menu was fantastic and they were very easily able to accommodate my gluten intolerance. Staff were very knowledgeable and welcoming.

Exceptional food. Halibut ceviche from Gigha, oh my goodness it was devine. Pairing food, wine and service together made it a very memorable evening. The whole team were quite frankly outstanding.

Took our son and his best friends for his 21st birthday - exceptional meal, and the super friendly staff made us feel welcome and very well looked after. Tasting menus were brilliant, and ability to switch dishes in from the vegetarian tasting menu add extra...flexibility. Great “destination” restaurant for Edinburgh (literally, for my wife, daughter and me, who were all up from London). Kudos to all.More

Relative to the cost I’d say this was a bit of a let down. If this was a normal priced restaurant in town then it would be good. But for the Michelin Star and cost I expected the food to blow me away. The staff...were lovely. The friendliest we have ever encountered.More

We haven't been to MW since before the pandemic, and we are so happy we went back. From the minute you walk in there is a quiet elegance which is still warm and not stuffy. Wonderful service as always. Food fantastic, in particular the amuse...bouche. Our favourite Michelin starred Edinburgh restaurant by far.More

We treated my parents to lunch at Martin Wishart recently. It’s one of their favourites - we hadn’t dined there before, so it was nice to see what all the fuss was about! Staff were super friendly and very professional. The fit out of the...restaurant is very nice and the use of mirrors give a great sense of space/airiness. 3 of us has the tasting menu and 1 of us had the vegetarian tasting menu. The food was excellent - fresh flavours and creative presentation. Not everyone loved the veal sweetbreads, but I thought they were delicious! I can definitely understand why this restaurant has a Michelin star. I can heartily recommend it - for a special occasion, or any other occasion for that matter!More

We visited the restaurant on Saturday as we have done several times, for lunch. My husband had bought me a voucher so we never checked price beforehand. £115, excluding drinks is a MASSIVE hike in previous cost. Whilst I fully realise that times have changed,...we visited first in 2020, the cost was £38.50 excuding drinks. We felt that around £75 would have been more appropriate. We enjoyed the experience as always but found the menu a bit "daring" given that there are only 2 choice for each course. Sweetbreads and snails were involved!!! Sadly, we won't be back.More

My wife had a voucher for lunch for 2 that she got for her birthday. This was a fantastic lunch with the food and service utterly brilliant. The amouse bouche came in 2 courses and was spectacular. there was beetroot macaron filled with horseradish cream,...gazpacho with burrata, a potato rosti topped with cream cheese and caviar, seaweed cracker with avacado and salmon and finished with a shot of orange, parsley and spinach juice. Wow. There them came fabulous bread with seaweed butter, tapanade and a warm tomato topping. We both had the terrine of pork knuckle and foie gras. great texture as well as flavour. For mains I had the stone bass with mussels topped with almond crumb in a light curry and leek sauce, it was magnificent. My wife had the confit duck leg with potatoes beans and peas, I obviously had a taste of it and can confirm that it too was delicious. For desert I had the chocolate mousse with raspberries and my wife had the lavender mousse with apricots. Apart from looking great they were both fabulous. Along with the service , which was first class, this was an overall magnificent experience.More

Amazing restaurant. We visited the Britannia nearby and walked over for dinner at Martin Wishart. We had the vegetarian tasting menu. Service was pleasant and exquisite. Made everyone feel comfortable without being fussy. Presentation was excellent, with taste and sophistication to match. Very unique dishes...and fairly generous portions. Having been to numerous Michelin one star restaurants, this was among the best. Very memorable experience.More
