We ate there on the last night of a Scotland trip.It was our big splurge, “grand finale”. They brought drinks and took our order, then forgot about us for 30 minutes. The appetizer and main dish then arrived together. They never came to check on...More

Went for lunch on our anniversary and it was ideal. Great location, atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was lovely, especially the goats cheese parfait and hake. Would go again.

I had had the expectation that our Tower breakfast was going to be phenomenal, but it was good but not great. One of our party's eggs were cold, the orange juice was not fresh squeezed and £5 for a cup of coffee?

We thought the view would be spectacular, OK staff but food was not good at all, nothing special and not worth our time!

We wanted to treat ourselves to a special saturday dinner and came here based on raving reviews by friends and online. Food was unimaginative, expensive ingredients like lobster prepared unlovingly and in a mediocre way. The vegan main was just a heap of unflavoured quinoa...More

Excellent menu featuring Scottish products prepared with a modern twist. Excellent service and wine list. This restaurant is located on the fifth floor of the museum. They also offer an interesting brunch and tea menu.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Perched above the sandstone-clad landmark Museum of Scotland, spectacular views of Edinburgh's Castle and city skyline feature on the menu of James Thomson's stunning rooftop restaurant. Sleek and stylish, the Tower is designed to impress and has become a must-see for A-list celebrities and visitors to Scotland, as well as its loyal local clientele. The Tower's extensive menu always features the best available seasonal ingredients, with Argyll oysters, local seafood, seasonal game, Angus beef and lamb impeccably sourced and simply prepared in the Tower's signature relaxed and unfussy style. The restaurant's reputation for creating outstanding gourmet food inspired a rash of complimentary reviews and recommendations in the Good Food Guide, the AA, Taste of Scotland, Fodor's, Frommer's and Michelin Guides among many others.
