Location and contact

Cracking bar and separate bistro in the heart of Edinburgh's Georgian west end. Very popular with locals sampling local craft beers, malt whiskies and world wines. Everything is prepared freshly in the restaurant using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff will look after you. You'll be glad you found us and won't want to leave. Open for breakfast in the bar, lunch and dinner. Famous for watching the rugby!!

It's sister bar in Leith is my favourite in the area. This one was only ok. Customers slouched over the sofas, one wandering around with a long lensed camera (when his tongue was back in his own mouth). Football on the tv but no sound...More

Friendly neighborhood feeling. A welcoming space with real ales at the pull on tap. Glad to find it on the way back to the hotel. Good for a pint away from the tourists.

Visited on a day trip for lunch after reading good reviews and wasn’t disappointed, The haggis stovie was delicious and it was the best ever chili I had tasted. The whiskey was good also ! Will certainly return and can thoroughly recommend ..

We asked for a hamburger rare made and the answer was that no, since in that one place they did the same and only way for more than twenty years. Apart from this anecdote, it was delicious and the atmosphere is very local, a variety...More

Literally... 5 puppies came in to the bar. They were precious. Puppy breath and all. The wine was good and so was the food, but the puppies made my evening!

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along

Erm nope, its a bar that has a good selection of beer, lager, wines and spirits. As mentioned it has a good Scottish menu selection as well. So everything is catered for.
