I had a takeaway last time I visited Edinburgh, but this time we had our fish supper in the shop. It was on the spur of the moment, but such a good choice. My daughter and I shared a portion of haddock and chips and...More

Wanted a typical Scottish fish supper and this place filled the bill. Lovely fish and chips and nice people.

Whilst staying in Edinburgh we wanted a typical Scottish Fish & Chip supper. It was only 5 minutes from where were staying in Bellevue. The staff where very friendly, there was a very good menu and the food was freshly cooked to order and very...More

I used to have fish and chips from here as a child. Probably not all that long after they first opened. Recently moving back into the area, ad seeing L’Alba D’Oro still there, I decided to have a rare fish supper. What a disappointment. Fish...More

Simply delicious fish and chips - expertly cooked - friendly service 😋 If you ask there are more seats in the sister Italian restaurant next door and they make a lovely pot of tea ☕️

This is a take away without any place to dine. There is a small corner with only 2-3 seats. We like the classic haddock and the scampi. The breaded fish with sage and onion was special too.

Visited twice on a 4-day trip! Tasty with steak pie! Friendly staff too! It would be nice to be able to sit down properly on a table not those high chairs window seating... Yumm yumm all the way!

My partner used to live in Edinburgh and on our first night visiting said she was taking me out to dinner at L’alba D’Oro. Ohhh sounds fancy I thought, until on our way there she drops in that it’s a fish and chip shop! Although...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement
