We had a family meal here and as ever it was fabulous. The dishes are a work of art and absolutely delicious. We make a point of eating here whenever we are in Edinburgh and every time is a delight. The dishes are a treat to the eye and the tongue!! The staff are attentive without being intrusive, helpful, polite... More

Front of house unbelievably rude so didn't bother and walked out. Doesn't matter how good food is if attitude of staff is dismissive and unfriendly.

Was with a big table there for a pal's birthday and couldn't fault the service; super-attentive. And food was immense, I had the scallops starter then the house speciality beef. Glorious, will defo be back!

Our fourth visit to one of our favourite restaurants in Edinburgh, and one of our all time favourite Thai restaurants. Outstanding food, friendly and efficient service as alway. I would highly recommend trying Passorn if you have not already done so.

Visited Passorn based upon reviews on Trip Advisor and wasn't disappointed. Excellent and professional service from the staff. Nice touch of explaining what each course comprised of. £47 for two courses plus coffees for 2 people.

This was my second visit to this restaurant this month, and Ive been absolutely blown away by the flavours presentation and balance of the food. The lady in charge of front of house who I think is the owner remembered us from the week before and greeted us in her very warm friendly welcoming manner. Her staff are very professional... More

Enjoyed a family meal here over the Christmas period. The food was of good quality and very nicely presented and as other reviewers have noted, seemed quite "authentic". Portion size not huge, but that wasn't a problem for us, and I suspect wouldn't be for most diners with normal appetite. Some reviewers have said that the food here is overly... More

Any time we are looking to have a special dining experience, the Passorn is our go-to place. Consistently excellent food - as someone who loves Thai cuisine, this is easily the best I've found in Edinburgh. I have tried several items on the menu and everything I have eaten has been delicious! From the minute you step in the door,... More

Went to dinner here this evening simply by chance. What a find. Terrific food and great service. They were very kind to my 5 year old and looked after us extremely well. so we will definitely be back. Really worth a visit.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
