The location of Zucca is brilliant if going to a performance at Usher Hall, Traverse or Lyceum (which it actually adjoins). The food is really good too – specially recommend the tasty mushroom risotto, and a delicious 'three chocolates' desert. Staff very friendly and helpful...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along

Zucca is an Italian restaurant, located in the west end of Edinburgh's theatre district, is a firm favourite with the pre-theatre crowds, tourists and locals alike, looking for great food without too much fuss and formality. Ideally situated in between the Royal Lyceum, the Usher hall and the Travers theatre, it aims to offer elegant but simple food, using fine Italian and Scottish produce, reflecting both seasonality and the chefs' creativity, maintaining a Mediterranean theme throughout. The food is complimented by an unpretentious selection of good wines, moderately priced; highlighting the best style each Italian region has to offer. The restaurant operates Tuesday-Saturday (bookings strongly advised for theatre times) and is open for Usherhall Sunday and Monday performances. Telephone for details
