Had very nice meal in this Royal Mile pub/restaurant. Great ambiance, haggis main was really good and very hospitable place. We liked it so much we came back following night and enjoyed entertainment from the musician.

My wife and i with a couple of friends visited edinburgh and had booked a table. We were welcomed and shown to our table in the back of the bar which was cosy and great atmosphere. We did think the food seemed a bit expensive...as we were concernedthat it might just be standard pub food. We ordered haggis tower and whiski burger from the al a carte, chicken sandwich and haggis stack from the lunch menu. Food was AMAZING! Fresh, delicious and had obviously been cooked with care and flare! Absolutely well worth it and would definitely recommend this bar! A great advert for quality food and atmosphere!More

Read up about here on trip advisor and decided to book due to the great reviews and they met all expectations. Really cosy bar, delicious food and drinks and a great pint of Guinness! Staff were lovely and very friendly. I would suggest booking in...advance if you can as this is a popular spot and tends to be really busy - no surprise there!! Great tunes there too just to top it all off! Would definitely be straight back here on my next trip to EdinburghMore

Food was lovely and there was a great whisky and cocktail selection. We stayed for the live music and it was a really fun and lively place, would definitely recommend.

Our visit started badly and continued throughout our visit, we had booked a table for 7 guests, 2 arrived before us and was asked if they wanted to sit at the table, they declined and said they would prefer sit at the bar and wait...for the rest of the party, when the rest of us arrived, we were told that our 2 guests had declined our reserved table, so they released it and we would have to wait for another one, this is a complete lie .. why would anyone decline a reserved table !! We had to wait an hour for another table, when the food came it was very luke warm and several plates were sent back ... at no point throughout the night did the Manager apologise to us or ask us how we were doing ... shocking customer service !! the toilets were disgusting and one was actually blocked, which I reported to the Manager and nothing was done about this .... the food is overpriced and tasteless .. I don't normally write reviews but I was so disgusted at the lack of hospitality, poor customer service and crap food that I just had to write this .. so disappointing as were celebrating a friend's 50th Birthday and will never return again !!!!More

I am sorry for your experience at Whiski, there was a very clear misunderstanding in that we thought you didn't want the table and wanted to sit at the bar instead. I am glad we got you another table but sad to hear you were...More

Me and my husband had a reservation for 1.30 we turned up within plenty of time. Got seated straight away. We were both really exited to try this place as food on the website looked amazing. After 20 mins of being seated I had to...ask someone if we could have our order taken, the lady said something and never came back to take our order, I then asked another girl 5 mins later if she could take our order, she took our order, after 10 mins we still hadn’t received our drinks. So that was 20 mins of waiting to be served and 10 mins after no drinks, we decided to get up and leave. And on the way out I said to the lady we were leaving as we still hadn’t received any drinks, she apologised. We then went up the road to a lovely little Italian and got our order taken within 5 mins and had our drinks on our table. I was really disappointed, the restaurant was busy but not overly.More

Yes we allow babies and children and are very family friendly but there are licensing law restrictions later at night which require children to leave the premises by a certain time.
