Great food, imaginative menu, very friendly staff. Atmosphere very relaxed. Staff did not rush us, understood the menu and answered our questions. Not rushed. What more could you ask for?

We had an amazing meal here, the food was beautiful and the service was first rate. Loads of vegan options which delighted my partner, they also have an excellent choice of wine. Cannot wait to return next time we are in Edinburgh.

As a vegan, it's always lovely to go to a restaurant where there is more than one thing on the menu to choose from, so a trip to David Bann while in Scotland was a must. I confess to being a little disappointed with my...starter, an aubergine and chick pea Kofta which just a little bit plain. However, my main course, a wonderful smoked tofu stir fry, was top quality. The wine list was good and the staff were very friendly. As an aside, I couldn't decide whether the decor was unfussy, cold or super-stylish. Odd. Would recommend.More

Took my lovely girlfriend out for her birthday while we were visiting Edinburgh. Her being vegan it seemed like a great place from the menu and we were not disappointed! Both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Nice to have a veggie/vegan menu that was a proper...sit down meal. Would definitely go again if in Edinburgh.More

Visited David Banns last night. We were met with the usual grace and shown to our table. The menu was a little restrictive and some of my old favourites had disappeared. The food was really well presented however all 4 meals weren't very hot as...if they had been lying after being cooked. Flavours were lovely as usual. A bit disappointed tonight.More

This is one of the most popular restaurants in the city and once you have dined there is is plain to see why this is. The food is freshly cooked and there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. It is so nice...to see such well thought out dishes and not a hint of a veggie lasagna or pasta bake in sight!. The serving staff were warm, friendly and helpful. This was a gastronomic delightful experience.More

Loved every bit of the restaurant experience - from remembering what the occasion we were there for to ensuring our meals are properly served, the service was outstanding. Highly recommend a visit there regardless of whether you are a vegetarian or not.

This is evidently a very popular restaurant and it is clear why. The food is not only thoroughly delicious but the waiting staff are a credit to the restaurant.. attentive, knowledgeable and courteous at all times. The home made Hummus was so delicious, I could...have eaten it as a main course and the roasted celeriac, potato and chickpea curry in a lentil wrap was rich and flavourful with a lovely kick to boot. This may be a vegetarian restaurant but deep flavour is evident in every dish. If you're in Edinburgh, this is one place I would recommend you visit.More

I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone - even the most committed carnivore. The food is inspiring - in a way only the very best vegetarian/ vegan food can be. The service was also first class - attentive without being intrusive. Next time I visit Edinburgh,...I'll be back for more!More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

I went without a reservation but that was a Tuesday evening and there were only a couple of tables free, I would recommend booking.
