Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife was given a gift of a voucher for the Wedgwood Restaurant and we visited on the 16th April. The access to the restaurant is excellent and from the moment we walked through the door we were warmly welcomed by Kendra who was supported...by Leah. Service was first class throughout and Kendra was friendly, professional and informative. We opted for the “wee taste of Scotland” menu. There are no words to adequately describe how great it was. Each successive course was a new and so tasty experience, with its own uniqueness and layers of flavour. Excellence from beginning to end. Would we return? In a heartbeat. Fantastic. A credit to all involved. So nice to meet Lisa too.More

I enjoyed the tasting menu as a solo diner this evening and I must commend Wedgwood, not only on the divine tasting menu and perfectly paired wine, but on their exceptional service. I felt welcome, not at all uncomfortable or rushed, and like the staff...genuinely wanted me to be there and to enjoy myself. Thank you so much for an unforgettable dining experienceMore

My boyfriend and I have visited Wedgewood to celebrate my birthday for the last two years as part of a trip to Edinburgh during the fringe festival. Both years, we have enjoyed the vegan tasting menu with wine pairings and pre-dinner canapes and fizz. The...food and wine are exceptional, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend it and will no doubt be back again!More

First class taster menu. Every dish beautifully presented and delicious. Given plenty of time between courses too which allowed us to have a wonderful meal over a couple of hours. Excellent service, great location, memorable food. Highly recommend.

As a vegetarian, I was attracted by the options available before booking, but I was even more impressed by the incredible flavours. Everything my partner & I tasted was absolutely delicious. It was a lovely experience all round with friendly service & a nice atmosphere....A pleasant experience on a short stopover in Edinburgh.More

We arrived in Edinburgh with little organised but we do love a tasting menu so we went on the hunt and found this little gem. Pointless going into the details of every dish as this chef will plan around what is fresh, local and good...quality. He clearly knows what he is doing as every dish left us feeling lucky we had discovered this place and on this occasion they had space for 2 more to dine with them. We had the wine flight which was reasonably priced and as with the food every glass and dish were explained in detail by the waiting staff. If you want a treat and enjoy good quality food put this one on your to do list as you won't be disappointed.More

What a gem of a restaurant. My husband & I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. Everything was perfect. The staff were friendly & very informative about the menu & ethos of the restaurant. The food was delicious & perfectly paired with our wine selection....Definitely worth the money spent. Good luck to Paul on his Moroccan trek, we hope you raise a good amount for your chosen cause. Thank you for making our night so special. Jo & Mark xxMore

We picked this restaurant for our dinner date in Edinburgh after browsing menus and reviews with some competitors, and we could not be happier. Great knowledge of their products and their dishes, lovely pairings for the wine flight (and allowed an amendment), never had to...repeat or chase anything at any point, and the service was spot in even with three different people alternating touching our table. It has been one of the most remarkable dining experiences in a while. Left happy and satisfied. Thank you so much.More

Visited with my wife on a rainy Sunday night in January . Not many good places open on a Sunday evening . What a delight to find this place. They were hosting a wedding upstairs , a cosy and lovely and warm little down stairs...dining room . The girls who served us were so polite and friendly, not trying to push items or be scripted as we often see in some places . The food was perfect . As good as the tasting menu looked we each shared a couple of starters that I couldn’t fault the scallop or the pork belly and for mains the monkfish and venison absolutely perfect . I will be back without a doubt . And for a reasonable price The truffles should be sold in shops . Amazing !More

I love this restaurant so much. The staff are fantastic, the food is always outstanding in terms of taste, presentation and quality, and I always leave here feeling so grateful for the experience. This time we had the wee taste of Scotland tasting menu. 10/10.

A truly wonderful meal, particularly the grouse ham starter. Absolutely mystified by its removal from the michelin guide - well worth it.

Very disappointed. We came for a special occasion and had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and canapés. The food was average and sometimes over cooked or underdone, very bland flavour and boring. We shared our experience to the manager and said we didn’t...want compensation because we ate the majority of it. Her reaction made it worse as she was unapologetic and didn’t seem to care, her response was the chef must have had an off day and we should try a local cocktail bar to finish our night. A bizarre and disappointing response. Will not be returning and would rather spend over £300 elsewhere.More

There is paid parking on St Marys Street and East Market Street. Just behind the restaurant is the NCP Waverley station car park. You can park directly outside the restaurant after 6.30pm each evening. Thank you

We did a vegetarian tasting menu, and they changed some options that our daughters didn't like. Their menu is online. I'm sure your friend will be fine.
