Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I fancied a trip out of the city centre so took the tram down to Lieth and came across this fabulous seafood Restuarant. The cosy atmosphere and friendly welcome set the right tone, and the Seabass I had was amazing. If you able to make...it, it is worth a trip and if you staying close by it is a must.More

Never been here before and found our expectations dashed with stark mediocrity. When you're the only folk in the place it shouldn't take thirty minutes for mains to arrive. Felt that the portions could have been bigger when considering the price. Staff were lovely and...the food was fine but just not great value for money consequently we're not minded to return given that there are other places nearby offering better cost to quality ratio.More

Good food coupled with very good service and a nice atmosphere with the only negative being an automatic service charge

Just awful. I’ve lived in Leith for 22 years and Fishers on the Shore has always been one of my favourite restaurants, however, after a recent visit I’ll not be going back. The food was fine but the attitude of two of the waiting staff...was shocking. It’s taken me two weeks to calm down and write this review. Sorry Fishers, you’ve lost a loyal local customer.More

Absolutely a perfect experience from the moment we stepped through the door. Amazing. Chargrilled octopus as a starter followed by perfectly cooked lemon sole and monkfish. A delight to savour!

Short break in Edinburgh before Christmas and so fancied fish for a change for our evening meal. We decided on Fishers as we were walking around the city. A lovely atmosphere and really great food. We enjoyed the food so much we ate there again...the following evening!More

A cosy place in the heart of the city and a great choice for sea food lovers. We were lucky as the place was very quiet. The servers could do with some in-house training.

Great seafood restaurant in the heart of Leith's dockland area. As you may have figured out, seafood is the main event here. It's all about things that come from the sea. The "Whole Gambas" (garlic prawn) starter was amazing, though in European style, you get...the entire prawn (shrimp), which we are not used to in the States. A bit more work but well worth it. The coley filet with chickpea salad and pilaf was amazing. And the sticky toffee pudding was a great ending (wife ordered it...I just had a bite). Excellent service too.More

Very disappointed. We were left when we arrived & I had to go over & find someone to order from. Asked for water & were given a glass. Ordered oysters which worked out at over £3 each & they weren’t exactly plump. Then mussels &...chips. The mussels were fine but the ‘hand cooked chips’ were mushy & tasteless. I couldn’t eat mine. And it was expensive for what it was.More

I recently dined here to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The customer service was outstanding. The staff Sylvia was attentive and made us feel like valued guests. She went...above and beyond to ensure that our anniversary celebration was memorable. Now, onto the food, every dish we ordered was a delight.More

We were in a hurry to get to a wedding photo shoot and the staff kindly accomodated us without reservations. We ordered the crabcake sandwich and did not love it. The potatoes, however, were out of this world! There was a table of 6 or...7 behind us with 3 or 4 kids who had NO discipline whatsoever, which made it so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Admittedly, that was not the restaurant's fault but....More

Casual spot with great seafood on the Shore in Leith. Reasonable pricing for fresh seafood that was perfectly prepared. Service was prompt, courteous, helpful. Make a reservation as it is a popular spot...and rightfully so.

Fantastic bijou seafood restaurant that caters for all. The staff are welcoming and warm, with lots of character. Food was out of this world, seafood par excellence, faultless. A good selection of wines and very easy and comfortable ambience. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is very noisy,! Poor service. The food was very average. The vegetables were overcooked. Go to a pub and you will have better atmosphere and food. They charge you a 10 percent tip up front.

Very disappointing experience. Scallops not well prepared and fish and chips no better than any pub. Chips could have been supermarket oven chips. Very overpriced for a mediocre meal.

They have a separate vegetarian menu. You can ask for it when you're in the restaurant. My friends opted for the veg menu and said the food was a bit average.
