Yet another great night out at Dine. Started with the obligatory cocktails whilst relaxing in the lounge area. This time we were lucky to be First to sample their range of Ginuary cocktails. This is now our 3rd annual visit with this group of friends post Christmas, and everyone keeps requesting a return visit. The ambience was great despite it being in the watershed of New Year. Staff attention to detail again was top class. Yet again the food was fantastic. It always amazes me that they can provided such quality with prices that favourably compare with not just their competitors in the market, but also the High street chain restaurants. Our group gave ten out of ten for the salmon, risotto, rib-eye and lamb shank.
Can't wait for rugby six nations to start so have an excuse to return for the weekend Dine with Wine offer.

We ate here midweek. It was full of people taking advantage of the midweek, early evening and January generous special offers. It's a fun lively atmosphere, slightly blingy but not in too bad a way. Service is attentive, though arguably you're slightly rushed through; perhaps they like to turn the tables quickly. Food was good - excellent main courses of pork shoulder with lentils and vegetarian risotto outperformed the slightly less exciting and small starters. We shared a first rate and huge sticky toffee pudding. Our bill was c £75 including two glasses of wine each so it tots up but not bad value. Recommended.

This was my second visit to Dine. I went the weekend before lockdown and then again when lockdown had been lifted. My first experience was fantastic as the service, ambience and food was amazing. I was made to feel very welcome by every member of staff and made to feel like a regular. I expected the second visit to feel very different due to all the restrictions that the pandemic has made necessary. It was clear to see that Dine take the safety of their staff and customers very seriously and all necessary precautions were taken but this in no way detracted from the experience. It was just as good as the first visit and possibly even better. What made it exceptional was the reaction my friend got from the waiter when he asked if there were gluten free options. “Are you coeliac” the waiter asked, and when my friend said he was he said “me too” and then proceeded to explain the numerous options, all available from the wine and dine menu (exceptional value I might add) that we were all choosing from. My daughter is also coeliac and this is not a reaction one always gets. Dine is truly a real gem of a restaurant and I’m looking forward to eating there again soon.

We visited Dine for lunch last Saturday the first time since lockdown began. Although we were all a bit nervous there was no need as social distancing was very well observed and the tables well spaced out. Although it must have been very uncomfortable for them, the staff all wore masks and they were all very cheerful and attentive, the service was excellent as usual. Hand sanitizers were available on every table and every surface cleaned between use. Before and after our meal we sat very comfortably in the bar enjoying the delicious cocktails. We opted for the set lunch and all five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and suggested wines. It’s always a very enjoyable experience at Dine and I would like to thank Paul, Stuart and all the staff for making our lunch experience so pleasant with delicious food as normal. Can highly recommend a visit to Dine delicious food, great ambiance and value for money.

First time back at Dine after 20 weeks closed as a result of COVID. We used their Dine at Home service during lockdown but it’s great to be able to go to the restaurant and enjoy the fabulous food and service they provide. Whether it’s the Market Menu or a la Carte the choice is plentiful and at reasonable prices. I eat out a lot and Dine is one restaurant I never tire of going back to.

Had dinner their second night of opening after lockdown. What a delight! They greeted us like old friend and it felt very safe due to their care and attention. The tables are always well spaced so there's no worries and no need for unsightly screens. Other than the staff wearing masks it felt so normal. They aren't doing the market menu at the moment so it's a la carte only. It was one of our best meals - all dishes were excellent. Stuart Muir has done a wonderful job. They're still doing doing their delivery service on Fridays and Saturdays so if you're not yet able to go out, this would be an excellent choice too. We'd had several Dine at Home meals and how they maintained quality is remarkable, especially at that price.
Highly recommended.

Dine introduced 'Dine at Home' during lockdown where they will deliver a 3 course dinner for two to your home with easy instructions on how to heat and serve it. The menu changes weekly with options for vegetarians. The food is delivered on the afternoon of your chosen date and portions are generous. The starter of hot smoked salmon was very fresh with a tasty twist through added pineapple, the seafood bake had plenty of fish, prawns and mussels along with potatoes and veg. The cheesecake dessert was heavenly. The price includes a bottle of wine and gordal olives so the whole meal is incredible value for money. Make your lockdown weekend special with a dinner from Dine at Home.

2 of us dined at Dine on Saturday & we were well impressed. Service was attentive & staff handled Covid safety well.
Cocktails for £5 until 6pm are fab. The lunch of 3 courses & wine for £47.50 between 2 is so worth the money. And the food was so tasty. We tried spinach croquettes, prawn tortilla for starters, then delicious pork meatballs in a superb sauce with rice & then finished our meal off with lemon profiteroles (wow) & a tiramisu cheesecake.
Absolutely perfect in every way. Can't wait to go back.

After reading such amazing reviews we decided to eat at Dine for our anniversary. We noted the occasion when booking and received 2 complimentary glasses of prosseco on arrival. I cannot fault the service we received and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. However the food was very disappointing. The steak was dry and the "chefs special twice cooked chips" were dry, they were definitely oven cooked chips. We did complain and received a discount on our bill and 2 free cocktails, so deffinetly can't fault the service but I will not eat here again.

Dear Sightsee483206,
We are sorry to read your 2* review despite our teams’ best efforts to appease you on the evening.
What is extremely disappointing for us, is that you felt the necessity to join TripAdvisor to leave your ‘1st’ damaging review when we are all trying to survive and protect jobs during these unprecedented times.
I wish to reassure any customer reading your review our chips are hand-cut from award winning Perthshire Rooster potatoes and we serve nothing less than premium 28 to 40-day dry aged Scottish steak from the Borders and Highlands.
I feel it would be fair to say we simply did not meet your dining profile, despite our best efforts on the evening.

We have been here a few times before, and every time has been outstanding. Most recently for a family sunday lunch - food was excellent and great value for money, service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Overall just a brilliant place to eat!

Dine at Home on Friday
It was quite excellent.
It starts with the ring of the doorbell, the door opens and then the 2 metre dance starts. Do you go forward to accept the cardboard boxes and the bottle of wine or stay back? But intuitively helped by the smiling Dine deliverers it all works out and the evening’s packages are in the house.
The cocktails are extracted and sent to a different part of the fridge because they will be the first to go into service. Later we have them in the garden during the first storm of the summer, fortunately just wind and not much rain so you can believe you are in a favourite place, in our case Nice in May, having a Negroni and Mango Daiquiri.
That does wonders for the me but then I remember I have to do the cooking tonight.
In the box there is an instruction sheet.
You read it carefully and find that everything has been prepared for the microwave. We are down to minutes and dials here, surely, I can do that. And I do.
I set up the containers in order, their sauce to the side, and as both are different, start to fret over the different times. But it all develops as a synchronised dance, when the first comes out to rest and the second goes in to cook, they all arrive perfect at the plate. At the plate seems to be an important aspect as you follow the instructions to show that you have what it takes, and when it arrives on the table it is to the Chef’s standards, not mine, but Stuart Muir’s of Dine Edinburgh.
Now I am not going to go into the tastes and delicacies of the dishes, they were all excellent and there are better people than me out there to describe the individual tastes of braised pork cheeks and fish pie with leeks, plus the starters and deserts.
What we experienced was a night at Dine. Looking forward to going out for the night, putting the order in, Dine arriving at your door. We had a cocktail at the bar beforehand, shared the starter ( kept the soup in a doggy bag for the following day). Really enjoyed and talked over the main courses, the cocktails and wine helped with the atmosphere, and then everything went into the dishwasher.
As I said at the beginning it was an excellent night at Dine.

Up from London on a weekend trip to Edinburgh, my wife and I were looking for something easy, but special, for a Saturday lunchtime treat. Dine was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The stylish and comfortable cocktail lounge, with long bar and great bar tenders. We both enjoyed our cocktails, prepared and served perfectly to our taste and with real style and efficiency. Although the restaurant was busy, our table was ready within a few minutes.
The presentation and flavours of all three courses was fantastic, as was the friendly, attentive service throughout the meal. The Wine and Dine offer was truly exceptional value for money, I actually questioned if the bill really covered both meals!
The experience perfectly set-up our weekend break and (despite the best efforts of Storm Ciara) it set the tone for the whole weekend of enjoyment in the wonderful city of Edinburgh.
We will be back!

Wonderful place to have lunch especially if you are attending a theatre. Service is outstanding and the food is a great. 3 course menu is offering food for all needs. My only reservation is that they are still not offering alcohol free wine or spirits. In this time of addressing more healthy options this is the one area that eateries are resisting. I understand that the supply of this non-alcohol option may be part of the problem, there still needs to be options in a place that is of such outstanding quality. Mochtails are insulting. Of course cost is also in the theory as the supply may not allow for the eateries to make enough profit for the business.

We ordered a Dine at Home option with delivery only a few pounds extra. It was delivered in style within the window stated, packaged beautifully and meticulously presented and labelled within each box. The cooking instructions were as simple and stickers on the cartons were replicated on the menu/cooking instructions making everything straight forward and simple. This was a joint mothers day / birthday meal and having visited the restaurant recently hoped they would be able to replicate the quality and flavors of the food. The presentation, quantities, balance of the flavors on each course was outstanding and our compliments to the team who clearly put incredible endevours to produce a home delivered package, that reflected the exceptional quality of our restaurant experience.

We recently choose this for a meal due to the location from our hotel and after reading reviews . We arrived a bit early too take advantage of the £5 cocktails deal but after having one we decided to just buy normal drinks as although the cocktail was nice it was such a small glass you could probably finished it in one go . The staff in the bar couldn’t do enough for us and constantly asked if we were ok for drinks . We went through for dinner and the food was a great standard and we really enjoyed the food and would recommend this place for a romantic night fir a special meal .

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
