Visited Dhoom after it received a curry award & was not disappointed. We had the taster lunch menu in which received four tapas style items - batata vada, bhojpuri daal chawal, chicken 65 & dohara seek kebab. All were delicious and authentic.
This was followed by a chicken biryani roll for me & chicken tikka masala Desi for my wife. Both were very nice indeed. The food was washed down with two Goan Sunset mocktails.
Really great to see authentic food of the kind you find in India in Scotland as there is so much great Indian food that you don’t get here. I just wish more restaurants served up this kind of fayre.
The decor is nice with swing seats for those who want them as well as seats in autorickshaws. It was fairly busy when we visited but the service from the two staff was attentive & efficient & I found the price to be very reasonable. Will be back.

If you have visited India you will be delighted to recognise many of the smaller dishes here. They take pride in the street foods of the sub continent alongside desserts from Rajasthan and banana and coconut curries from Kerala. Sample some of their shared starters, pick out the things you especially like and order more.
This is the kind of place where you could overdo on the ordering were the owners not restraining you from doing so.
Take their advice on the quantities and revisit if your appetite allows you later!

We went on a Friday night not long after lockdown ended. Staff were all wearing facemasks or visors. We did wonder why all customers were placed in the same area with other tables free. Waiter explained the menu (choose from fixed price limited menu or a la carte tapas style) we went for the tapas option. Fish was great, prawns were nice but the sauce a bit mayonnaise-ey, paneer were like spring rolls. Tasty but not what we expected.
Although tapas, waiter suggested we have a main each so we had lamb aloo ghost which was amazing- v tender and well flavoured, and aubergine curry was really tasty too. Parantha bread was quite greasy but tasty. Cocktails well worth it too.
Overall a lovely meal, but there are a lot of good Indian restaurants in Dunfermline and this was quite pricey. We will be back, but might leave it a little while.

I have mobility issues so hobbled in - the young gentleman looked a little concerned and tentatively asked if I would like to sit on the swing seat? "Only if you fancy picking up a fat bloke from the floor." So I was ushered to a wall seat, the right height and comfortable back. The meal began with a complimentary dall soup, light in texture big in flavour and just the right level of heat.
Dining alone, and reading my book I was able to observe lots of happy consumption, and curious things being served with dry ice to the accompaniment of "Happy Birthday."
A la carte or table d'hote. I went for a la carte as 5 starters seemed a bit overwhelming. Salt lassi was just spot on.
Stupendously flavoured grilled fish, in a flavoursome sauce, the white flesh perfectly glacé.
Then a venison and sweet potato curry. I often curry this meat at home but is the first time I have eaten it out. Once more a good balance of flavours textures and a satisfying heat.
Then delight of delights, curried goat. Not since living in a community of folks from the Caribbean have I had goat in the UK. Here it was beautifully tender, balanced flavours in a rich curry sauce. I only every eat my curry with chapati this was fresh and springy.
Finished with home made gulab jaman served with masala chai. What joys. Maybe next time I will risk the white chocolate samosa?
By this time 2 hours had passed - I had finished one book and into chapter 3 in another. I was stappit fu' as is said in Scotland.

Really enjoyed our curry last night. The five tasting dishes for starters are small, tasty mouthfuls served one after the other. I chose the goat curry which was lovely and my friend had the coconut chicken. We had a cocktail too, mine was Delhi Belly and was fruity and fresh, I can’t remember the name of the cocktail which my friend had but it was lit at the table and tasted similar to a pina colada.
The staff were friendly and explained the menu and gave the perfect amount of customer service without going over the top.
Definitely recommend but it was a just a tad chilly in the restaurant for us last night. That said I will definitely be back- next time with my husband!

Visited Dhoom for lunch today. Superb food and the taster concept was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and the cost was very reasonable for the high standard of food served. Perhaps some background traditional music would’ve been a nice add to the atmosphere but overall an excellent restaurant.

Great taster, which changes frequently by area. Tonight was East India. All courses explained as they were served. Even though very busy they always had time to explain what was served, ingredients, sauces and the region it came from.

No criticisms for me here. We went here recently with myself my husband and his parents. We ended up ordering from both menus to ensure we got a nice selection of foods.
We received a complementary Indian tomato soup before the meal which was very nice.
All our dishes came out when they were ready which was perfect for our group as we just shared each element. It was all well presented and very tasty.
Having it that way allowed us to try each item as soon as they were ready so all the food was nice and hot.
Would definitely recommend and will go back next time we're at that end of the country.

I'm ashamed to admit that it took me two years to visit this fine eatery- however the old adage 'better late than never' is very appropriate!
We arrived to a bustling and warm atmosphere, and were seated immediately in one the Tuk Tuk booths, which added to the experience!
We went for the lunch menu- £12.95 for four plates of mixed starters, all beautiful, and a mix of vegan and meat based. These were followed by a main of our choice, which were also excellent.
The Chef Director and all staff were absolutely fantastic, spending time to explain the content and region of all the dishes. Given how busy they were at the time, this was over and above the service you might expect with every table occupied.
I honestly cannot fault this lovely venue, and will most certainly be returning.

When Dhoom opened, the proprietor told us he was wanting patrons to experience different dishes than we were all used to. He wanted to introduce us to Indian cuisine we hadn't been offered before. This is why all starters are served as a taster menu. Dhoom is an education.
Although I have always been very impressed with the standard of the food, I had one small grumble - the starters were often too similar. But it never put me off.
Last week we returned. The starters were all completely different - a huge variety of tastes, all absolutely delicious. Followed by our own choice curry which was typically excellent. This guy is so proud of what Dhoom produces and he is genuinely interested in making sure we enjoy the experience. Staff are all enthusiastic too. Top marks all round.

Tried today for the first time since the eat out to help out scheme is on. We hadn’t booked and they explained they were fully booked from 5pm but let us in if we were out by 5pm. Had the taster menu, and I explained I was vegetarian. Each dish was brought out with an explanation of what it was and whether it was veggie or not. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the food and would happily recommend to others to try. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I visited in July only a week after the restaurant opened after CV19 restrictions were relaxed.
We had a sample menu and it was so the right choice. 5 or 6 starters and a main course each. The food is prepared and served with pride and this is very evident in the servers description of the dish and indeed the taste.
We sat in a Tuk tuk and it did make us smile.
Thank you Dhoom, if we did not live 200 miles away we would be back in a heartbeat.

Last night we arrived at dhoom with another couple of friends. I was a bit apprehensive as not eaten out since Feb, before the covid period kicked in. The service and food was outstanding and we felt relaxed and safe. This truly is a very special restaurant and would suggest this to anybody looking for quality food at a reasonable price. I could eat here everyday if I could.

We live some distance from Dunfermline but had to go there today so called into Dhoom for lunch. It was amazing! From the off the wall decor (sit on a swing to eat, or at a tuk-tuk table?) to the delicious food, this restaurant has to be the best Indian menu we have eaten in a long time. There is an a la carte menu, but the fixed price lunch of four starters per person followed by a choice of one of six main courses is a must have, all small plates but really, almost too much for lunch. Plus, before this, we were served a little cupful of hot (both thermal and chilli) consomme which blew away the chill of a cold windy day. The staff were charming and the service was excellent. Cannot wait to find an excuse to go to Dunfermline and visit Dhoom again.

I always wanted to go in as there’s tables with swings and it just looks so cool!
Finally me and my friend decided to have lunch.
Simply amazing!
The food was perfect. Very tasty.
We got offered 2 menus, a la carte and a 9 course dinner menu, we chose the 9 course dinner one for £22.95 pp. Every dish was explained to us by a kind and friendly waiter. We got offered a cup of spicy tomato soup on the house while we waited for the food. Also on the house, a palate cleanser between the starters and the main course which we were not expecting it at all. Very nice.
We got a couple of mock tails which were colourful and tasty.
The place is nice, everything is modern and different. Loved it.
Thank you, I will be back soon.
Keep up the good work
