Omg...tried this so called cafe, today and was totally horrified....Do not go on a Sunday and have a roll of scrambled egg as the rolls are delivered on the Saturday and are a day old,but the manager says these are not old or hard...but they are!!!!!..Hard...and stale....
I ordered a Scottish breakfast and a soft yoke fried egg...Well where to start mmmm....
Egg was over cooked and hard as a football...the bacon was like a sheet of plyboard, the sausage was the cheapest skinny link you could get,the mushrooms where soggy and tastless and prob from Saturday like the roll!!! HASHBROWNS right out the freezer and into the deep fat fryer, tomato was hard inside and soggy on the outside and now onto the super toast!!!! Now Toast is made by the bread being placed into the toaster and TOASTED!!! not fried,we call that fried bread not Toast...im sure the people reading this review would agree...Tea for two,was the smallest pot which in any other cafe they would call that a tea for one.Food preped beside the coffee machine and the staff more interested in counting there tips than serving the customer,on entry had to wait after sitting down and then have to ask how the service works,is it table service??? but was told you come to the till and pay up before you get tortured by there food!!! And yes the word torture is correct,,even the scrambled egg was hard and tastless. I think you should check with the customer they don't have a cheese intolerance as adding cheese to scrambled egg is Not scrambled egg,we call that a cheese soufflé in the chef world. You should tell the customer you put cheese in scrambled egg.Now onto the toilets, well the womans toilet was not in-service and my wife had to use the dirty mens toilet which was NOT CLEAN,as the manager said it was...the whole place is just a disaster do your self and your body a favour and go any other place in St andrews but not here,u will thank me for this advice...The manager will say the place is amazing and people keep returning yeah that's because they are all students and like the manager says they know all there 5 regular customers by name....Over priced social enterprise. So to sum Zest up,find the nearset bin and enjoy lunch as I bet it would be better than the rubbish you get from the cafe.
Hope this helps you make the right choice for lunch.More
