Excellent big pot of tea and homemade scone with butter, jam and cream. With excellent service. Great farmers shop with a lot of homegrown products. Also, a good selection of unusual products. The butchers shop has a good variety of different meats. Well worth a visit!

Even though this is out of town on the road to Cupar you must be prepared to queue here for 10-20 minutes as they don't take reservations and it always seems to be busy, and now I understand why. Quite excellent food at very decent prices - I had a smoked haddock rarebit which cost about £7 and was more... More

A lovely little place to stop and have a nosey, pick up a few tasty treats, and head down to St. Andrews to enjoy. Lots of local produce and variety, with up and coming products available.

My sister, who is local(ish) to the area, work colleague recommended we try Balgove Larder when I was recently up visiting from Cambridge and I am so pleased we did, we absolutely loved it, the moment you open the door into the Deli shop I wanted to buy everything, it was an enormous shame that I only had hand luggage... I have visited this café/restaurant several times largely because if its location and because it is a locally run enterprise. It has never lived up to its billing but hope springs eternal so I tried it again. The staff are friendly and pleasant and that is an improvement over previous visits but we waited over forty minutes the receive our... More

Came here for breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning. There was a good atmosphere but we were still seated straight away. The service was good and so was the coffee. I ordered the full breakfast and was left slightly disappointed. The bacon was overdone, and the tomato was too hard. I had opted for scrambled egg which was however very nice. It... More

We stopped off here on our way to st Andrews. We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the various produce and products on hand. Eventually we decided to have lunch and after a short wait due to the restaurant being extremely busy we were shown a quiet table. The menu was good with choices from a full meal to soup or sandwich... More

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon coffee and cake/scone at this little hidden gem just outside St Andrews. After browsing in the farm shop, the cafe was busy, but had a lovely atmosphere. Cakes were delicious and flat white coffees were beautiful. Need to mention the toilets...unique. Wooden benches with modern "holes" as seats. Quite special. 😀 Would definitely return to the... Situated next to a farm shop on the main approach to St Andrews. Well worth a visit either on your way into or on your way out of town. Steaks, burgers and chunky fries are the mainstay of this alternative eatery. Like the set of Thingummyjig, this big barn of of a place can be a bit draughty on a... More
