This restaurant was recommended to me and my colleague by some locals. We visited La Fiorentina on a Tuesday night, which might be the reason why there was only few guests in the restaurant. I don't know if this was the reason why we were serviced so good, but I don't think so. The waiter was very helpful, smiling and serviceminded, and we received both our drinks and food very quickly. The starters (mussels and tiger scrimps) were very tasty and the size meant that we needed to have a few minutes before being ready for the main courses. The steaks were prepared just as requested, and the sauce was actually ok. Great visit and great food, which means that we definitely will be back.

Came here with my friend for dinner before heading across the street to the Grand Ole Opry - 2 courses for £13.50 and if you still have enough room you can add a desert for £3.50 extra. The food was delicious. I had the pate starter and seabass main which I'd highly recommend. Only down side for me was the wine. I love sweeter wines especially a White Zinfandel Rose but only medium or dry wines were available. Fast and friendly service. Get a few bottles in for the sweeter wine lovers and I'd have given it 5 stars.

From the moment we entered the restaurant and until we left the staff were very attentive and welcoming without being obtrusive. We had booked through 5pm and the menu was extensive and also included a drink which is great value for money. Our meals were traditional Italian fayre which were served piping hot and ingredients were made from fresh, a member of our party asked for their pasta to be served extra spicy you can tell the staff went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable and the pasta came exactly as requested. Atmosphere, quality of food and great value for money means we will be returning very soon.

Disappointed as had read great reviews and certificate of excellence. Went with my adult daughter and her partner on Saturday night. Ordered from the set menu. Calamare was fine. But mussels were mostly bad tasting so the 2 of us that ordered seafood pasta couldn’t eat it that either as it tasted old and again had bad mussels. Can only assume it was made several days before . That was last night, hoping we won’t be ill today .

hello i am sorry you feel that our mussels were not fresh but i can assure you that the mussels arrived fresh on saturday. We never cook the mussels until they are ordered therefore impossible to be made several days before. If there was an issue then why did you not tell us when you were in the restaurant? i can assure you that you will not feel unwell from our fresh mussels and i would like the chance to prove they were fresh by sending you the receipt for the delivery for this product. I hope in this way we can then remove this review as saying we dont sell fresh fish is very damaging to a business and very unfair when it is not true

Firstly, I'm quite surprised by the number of positive reviews this restaurant has received and its overall rating of 4.5 stars. I think people have been very generous with this place and that such a high mark flatters the place. Maybe the restaurant was different in the past but I have to review it based on my experience alone. I went on a Saturday evening recently. The first warning sign that I'd come to the wrong place was that the place was virtually empty. It did get a little busier later on but the level of custom was nowhere near what the better Italian restaurants would have been seeing on a Saturday. The service itself from start to finish was fine, let's say that it was minimalist. There was no fuss, no great customer care or attention to detail but at the same time there were no real issues with it. The service was just a bit flat and lacking in energy I guess and that's kind of the theme of the restaurant for me. As another reviewer, rayID1266HH, has said here, the whole place feels dated. I would add to that that it feels tired, old and lethargic. The service was OK, the place didn't look bad but dated would certainly be the word for it. Some of the decoration looked like something out of a stereotypical 1970s Italian restaurant. We're in 2021 now, they need to bring themselves up to date to keep appealing to the masses. But of course the most important aspect of any restaurant is the food. Sadly, at La Fiorentina, while the service and the decor are just about passable, the food is a real disappointment. For a place that advertises itself as serving authentic Italian food what I tasted was a real shame. I ordered the scallops as a starter. They cost me £9. For that price I was served 3 scallops and some garnish. I would say that in itself is a bit unfair but I would have been OK with it had the flavour been there. Unfortunately however, the whole dish was quite plain and, in keeping with the restaurant as whole, lacklustre and underwhelming. My main course was a seafood calzone, essentially a pizza that has been folded in half. I found it to be almost inedible in places because of how salty it was. Also, you could literally see some kind of oil or grease running off of the thing. I didn't enjoy it at all and think that some people probably would have sent it back because of how poor it was. So overall, I wasn't very impressed by La Fiorentina at all. I did get a dish to take away from there once before in 2018 and thought it was excellent. I do feel as though this restaurant has been a good one at some points in its history but for some reason has sunk to a low point. I think if the management were to invest in modernising the interior, revitalising the menu and enforcing higher standards of quality control then they would merit the 4 and 5 star reviews they have been getting. If the place improves I would be happy to give it another chance but as it is I don't plan to revisit. For now at least I would encourage people to avoid La Fiorentina and to go to one of the superior Italian restaurants in the city centre.

As someone who works in an Italian restaurant, I tend to avoid them when dining out, so la Fiorentina doesn't often spring to mind when I'm looking for somewhere to book, and I hadn't been since it changed hands. Upon arrival, I suddenly felt nostalgia for the old rustic look of Italian restaurants, instead of the contemporary feel many have, and the interior has a similar feel to it. Unfortunately, restaurants can't play music at the moment, so it took a little away from the atmosphere and my mum had booked the table early evening, so it there wasn't much of a buzz in the air. However, that suited me perfectly. There were a decent number of tables still in use, despite social distancing measures in place, and some screens for added protection where tables are a bit closer. Both servers wore face masks at all times, were polite, friendly and efficient, which is exactly how staff should be. The food was excellent, and better than expected. To start, I opted for the mozzarella milanese, which on its own was nice, but the dipping sugo was really full of flavour! As for the main course, before going in, I had a notion for pollo milanese, which used to be my favourite dish growing up, but then I noticed that they had veal available too, so went for that instead. I asked the waitress if I could swap the spaghetti Napoli for carbonara, and she informed me that it wouldn't be a problem. When it arrived, I was presented with a generous plate of veal, and the carbonara was possibly the best that I've had in Glasgow. My mum really enjoyed both of her dishes also, which made for a more enjoyable night. I'll definitely be back in again soon!

My husband and myself had lunch today and it was simply amazing. We chose our food from the lunch time menu which is outstanding value for money, no skimping on portion size. We both had Minestrone to start, I then had meatballs and my husband had king prawns which were huge. I can't recommend highly enough, the food and ambience are perfect. Also have to note that all rules relating to Covid are being adhered to and the staff are extremely vigilant in keeping up standards. La Fiorentina has to be the best Italian restaurant in Glasgow bar none 😊😊

My husband, daughter and I visited on Saturday night as this is our favourite Italian Restaurant in Glasgow. The Restaurant was full to capacity and the service we received was commendable given the volume of customers, the waiting staff were not in the least flustered and made sure everyone was attended to. The food was delivered on each course in a timely and orderly fashion with no extended wait between courses, the chef and his staff should be applauded. The food continues to be superb, portion size is huge given the prices being charged and for my family the food is faultless, exceptional in its taste and presentation. My final compliment goes to the Manager who has developed a magnificent team that are genuinely happy within their workplace which gives La Fiorentina a wonderful ambiance and a joyful night out.

Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough! We popped in on Friday night and the cooking smells as soon as we entered the restaurant convinced us we were going to eat well. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were large and very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. It was so good that we returned again the following night for more and we were not disappointed.

Went here for dinner after visiting the secc camping caravan show. A warm welcome on entering we chose the all inclusive menu £70. Per couple for 3 courses. Plenty of options. So ladies had a glass of prosecco and the men had a peroni. Different starters each mussels mushrooms prawns . Really really tasty. Then mains and desserts with a bottle of wine between two and a liqueur and coffee. Well worth the price definitely worth a visit. We will be going back. Also good choice for gluten free.

We had not been to this restaurant for years as we had moved away but decided to visit for a birthday dinner and I can say we were not disappointed. We had the fungi ripieni and bruschetta to start portions were amazing and lovely. My husband and son opted for the fillet steak and I had macaroni, again portions fab and the food was amazing. The steaks were fantastic and melted in your mouth we asked for them medium and they were pure perfection. They were the best steaks they had ever tasted compliments to the chef. My son opted for chocolate fudge cake and ice cream a winner. I was stuffed and just had a coffee however they came out with ice cream and chocolate sauce wishing me happy birthday which was a lovely touch. The meal from start to finish was gorgeous the service from Tracey and Max was excellent they could not fo enough and made our meal very special. Would highly recommend a visit we have been to a lot of other restaurants that were good but if you are looking for something a little more special and truly authentic please visit you will not be disappointed.

La Fiorentina is my family's favourite restaurant in Glasgow - two of my children and grandchildren live there. We booked it for my 70th birthday party in July this year. This involved all my friends coming up for the weekend from Wolverhampton so took a lot of planning over several months. I was worried we may have to postpone it given the covid situation but the restaurant manager Max and his staff could not have been more helpful. They made sure we were in a separate area, socially distanced, and with separate tables so it was all covid safe, and gave us a special menu so we could pre-order. The food was really excellent, as always, including for the children, with superb Italian red and white wines. The restaurant totally went the extra mile to give us a memorable party, with space and time to make speeches and serve our Wolverhampton Wanderers cake. La Fiorentina is the perfect example of a family Italian restaurant. What really marks it out is the friendliness of the people who run it. Peter Smith

La Fiorentina is an Italian Restaurant that ticks all the boxes! Last night we went for a pre concert meal. Plenty of on street parking outside. The restaurant itself is has a traditional Italian atmosphere, no loud music! We were greeted and taken to our table without having to wait . We had the choice of pre theatre menu or a la carte, both of which have a comprehensive choice and opted for the latter. The food was excellent , very tasty. The service was superb with every member of staff being friendly and helpful. The cost of the meal was very reasonable too. Highly recommended and I will be back!

One of the best lunch ever! We came for Father's Day and it was magical. Focaccia caprese as a starter, my father wanted to try the lasagna and as an Italian, he said that it is really authentic and perfectly cooked, I opted for the calzone seafood and it was enough to fill me up for two days! but it was so good it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere takes you straight to Italy, the waiters (all Italians, or at least those who served us) are kind and attentive, always ready to satisfy every request, an unforgettable afternoon! P.S. the Gin selection is on point.

Worst Italian meal I’ve ever had, don’t usually write reviews at all but feel so strongly about how bad food was. Overcooked chicken in breadcrumbs, accompanied by stodgy creamy mushroom pasta. Would have forgiven being rushed to order if food was even a fraction decent. Lots of HUGE Calzone & chips being served, maybe that’s the specialty.
