Amazing service

This was our first dining visit to Arta, having visited many times previously for drinks and events. We were greeted by our server Maisie, we immediately felt welcome as she had a very friendly and pleasant manner. We had the 6 tapas and wine offer which was good value, the stand out dishes being the sea bass and tortilla. There were a couple of small issues during our visit but Maisie dealt with them in an efficient and professional way. Great service is what makes the difference when things are not quite right, due to that we would not hesitate in returning to Arta for another dining experience. Overall a fun and relaxing night, look forward to the next time.

The party venue of dreams!

We attended Arta in May 2024 for my sister's hen party and what a great experience we had! We had secured the booking well over a year ago and Andy and Heather in the events team have been nothing but accommodating to all of our many questions and requests. The team were so flexible and really tried their best to go out of their way to fulfill all of your wishes. We booked the gold room as there were around 60 people - I would say this was the perfect amount to make sure people had seats but also room for dancing. As I said above, on the lead up to the hen party, the staff were so accommodating and responsive. On the night of the hen party the staff were exactly the same. Chelsea (I think the manager's name was) and the staff behind the bar provided outstanding service. There were a few things that didn't quite go as smoothly as planned but that's events for you! One highlighted the staff sorted any issues immediately so that we could enjoy our night. We also were able to leave all decorations which were stored in a secure location and then picked up the next day. The food was also very high quality for a buffet and the drinks were flowing at the bar! The DJ, Jesus - who was arranged through Arta, was absolutely amazing. He took on all of our requests and gauged what music we were needing to stay up on the dance floor. To the staff at Arta - thank you for making my sister's hen party a night of her dreams. We are so glad that we chose your venue to host this memorable night! Lyndsay

We had dinner in Arta since we were downstairs at the Bandeoke earlier. Staff young and could have been more attentive, waitress was good however bars staff lacking personality. Starters came, both ladies had the Bruschetta which they said was tasty we both had the chicken skewers which were also tasty. Mains we both opted for the Chicken dish, my wife had the chop which she had to ask for a steak knife in order to be able to cut it up! My sister in-law opted for the Steak which she said was lukewarm. desserts we opted for the Cheesecake which was ok. Overall fairly average considering the price.

Worst food and experience ever! Shameful!

would love zero stars for our experience on 7/12/24. £50+service charge for a disgrace of dinner..1 piece of turkey, 2 Brussels,1 carrot and 4 frozen potatoes..Luke warm chucked at us by harassed waiting staff, so many people jammed in couldn’t even talk for the noise and the music being played. 20 minutes for drinks order..sitting with dirty plates for ages between courses..cheap tasteless cheese board…Prosecco £35 not as described on menu, awful.left most of it..staff completely overwhelmed shouting Above noise what you had ordered..asked to speak to manage..ignored…We booked because of good experience in past..you should be ashamed of the standards on Saturday. Just to cap it all..my emails..I have sent 3 and x messages have all been ignored..shocking..complete waste of money and time.

Club or tapas restaurant?

Went for dinner at 8pm on a Saturday. Was the last to arrive of my party and was pointed in the general direction of the staircase I was to climb by an uninterested host. Once I found my own way to my mother’s birthday dinner we had to bear witness to a very loud DJ downstairs for someone’s 21st birthday (along with other diners upstairs who I’m sure weren’t pleased either at having to hear GBX while we tried to eat). Were served sesame bread after letting staff know about a severe sesame allergy at the table. Steak was served sliced with some parts overcooked to the point of chewiness and about 1 wet mushroom sliced between the two plates drowning in sauce, patatas bravas that was cooked on the outer edges and undercooked in the middle of the plate (was it microwaved?). Only redeeming factor was our wait staff who were attentive and friendly. Kitchen needs to sort out what they’re doing and management needs to decide if they’re a restaurant or a club at dinnertime.

shabby and frozen food

Hi, if you are thinking of going here to look lovely in the lovely surroundings, great! if you are going to dine , please avoid !!! freezer food to the max, very very small portions, frozen eggy cheesecake £8.50 ( which we didnt pay for it was that bad ) nope , there was no dish that I could say was thought through, it was lazy and very overpriced,,, the staff were lovely , also the resto looked like the poor sister to the rest of the venue, hope this helps with your planning

This place obviously doesn't have a decent chef the tapas was awful. The paella was like a plate of mushy rice, the potatoes were swimming in oil and looked like they had thrown some tinned tomatoes on them. The whole setting is lovely and the waitress was lovely, we felt bad for her so still left a tip. We will not be back here as there are plenty decent tapas restaurants in Glasgow for similar prices and better quality. Only plus side was decent wine.

An Arta of a Christmas Party!

I attended this venue last night along with my wife and her work colleagues for their Christmas night out. Table was set and staff were attentive, you had to pre choose your meal which was fine, although they were very understanding around changes which was a pleasant surprise! Starters, mains and desserts all came well presented and very tasty. A bit over priced at £45 for a 3 course meal, however drinks were reasonable and it was very busy but well organised and co-ordinated. All in all a good wee night!

First visit. Surroundings really nice and comfortable and waiting service friendly. Bread and dip was amazing and we chose the 3 for £15 along with 2 bottles of wine. Paella was wet and sticky so only managed a few forkfuls, chicken wings were juicy and tender but plain as no sauce with it which I found strange. The meatballs were a little dry too. We were overcharged but rectified quickly and given an apology.

Unacceptable Service

Arta | Booking Confirmation (DMN-16831861716). Unacceptable service and food. I made a reservation on Friday 25th August 2023 for 715pm. When we arrived there was a wedding on and the restaurant was moved downstairs which is not its usual location and now where as nice as upstairs. Anyway we followed signs and started to go down and we were stopped by an employee who said restaurant was upstairs. I said I know but there’s a wedding on but he said tell them your best for dinner and not part of the wedding. We then went upstairs and we were then told to go downstairs. The girl took us down and we walked at sight by the same employee and not as much as I’m sorry, he just looked the other way. So we then went down and taken to our table. A polite waitress came over and took our order which consisted of a bottle of wine, bottle of water and 4 tapas dishes plus bread and olives. I explained that we would like all the dishes at the same time which she said wasn’t a problem. Shortly after she brought the wine, we were given the bread and olives. The bread was stale. Shortly after this came the potato's bravas. Then 10-15 minutes after this came the Serrano ham dish which was basically a few pieces of ham with crackers and some peppers on a plate. It looked thrown on and not pleasing to eye or mouth for that matter. The waiter who served this was carrying the dish with his hand covering the plate which is not they way you serve food!! After another 10-15 minutes past the waitress came to clear our plates and I explained we were 2 short. As I said this the waiter came out with another dish and again with his hand covering the plate!! We hardly touched this and by this time we wanted to go. Another 10 minutes passed and the waitress came again to clear the plates. I asked for the bill. When she came with the bill I explained that we didn’t receive the mushrooms. She apologised. I then said test the dishes didn’t come out at the same time. She quickly cited a problem with kitchen due a a machine order fault. We payed the bill and left. So basically to put thud into context the staff don’t listen and don’t know the basic hospitality etiquette. The whole point of tapas is to have everything at round about the same time and presentation of food is key so please have a word with your chefs. I’m really disappointed with the whole experience.

Flamenco Dinner Fiasco

Attended the Flamenco night and the group were excellent. Tremendous dancer and musicians. HOWEVER the food was the most appalling I've ever tasted. We arrived having been told we would get the menu on the website but it turned out it was a set menu with either a vegetarian risotto/paella (which resembled sick and was inedible because the rice was not cooked) or Chicken. There were no starters at all. My friends Chicken and vegetables were completely overcooked and tasteless. I received a replacement which again was undercooked raw courgettes in raw batter, raw padron peppers swimming in oil and a fried cheese (allegedly Manchego tasted like cheddar) and patatas bravas with a sauce which was constituted of canned tomatoes and nothing else. This place is a complete rip off and should be avoided. I have not visited here for a long time because of the debacle over the two way mirrors in the women's toilet in the owners Shimmy club. To be frank as a result I do not book any of the premises of this owner. The Manager was very responsive and promised a refund. You can judge if you think that either of the meals are worth £32 with entertainment?

First and last time

Visted Arta with my friends for a bday dinner after hearing a few good reviews. When I booked a table I left a special note that it was my friends birthday and asked to organise something special…meaning a wee birthday plate or a candle with the dessert..bare minimum. Food wasn’t nice at all. Unseasoned didn’t have any flavour, worst pardon peppers we’ve ever had… The drinks were okay but we had to wait a long time to get them. It was 9pm and it wasn’t busy at the time. Staff very inattentive not to mention they never let us know the kitchen is closing so we never had a chance to order desserts so birthday was a bit ruined.. waiter clearly didn’t care about it either. We still paid the service charge although definitely not worth it. The venue is nice, would rather come for a drink and stay downstairs than ever come back for the dinner…big disappointment.

Amazing food and service

Booked a room for my husband’s birthday meal. There was 20 of us in the group. The whole group raved about the food and the service we received (blonde girl with curly hair and the manager) were very attentive, playful with our group and made us all feel very welcome. We would 100% book again and thank the staff for their care whilst we were there.

Spanish afternoon tea disappointing

Spanish Afternoon Tea Was really looking forward to this as we loved the idea and this was a gift from our family. Not sure what the Spanish part was as what we got bore no resemblance to their web pictures. I’ve added photos of their pic and reality. We were looking forward to some tapas style savoury but got half a dozen pieces of filled baguette ( bocadillos ) and apiece of tortilla no Spanish sweets. No pot of tea we were just served a cup each. Venue and staff were lovely but they really let themselves down with this.

Murder Mystery Night

We booked to attend the murder mystery night that was being held in Arta - at £45 a head we expected some nice food. The event had a set menu with the starter being a salad. We didn't really expect to get raw onions, peppers and tomato on a plate with a sprinkling of chopped iceberg, covered in vinegar. The description on the menu makes it seem a lot nicer than it is. The main was a little better but honestly not by much with barely any seasoning on the chicken - though the gravy was good! The waitstaff and bartenders were lovely and the drinks we had were very nice so I cannot fault that. The actual event itself was fantastic! Just completely let down and disappointed by the food, the whole table was in shock at the starter we got dished up. We ended up getting something to eat on the way home as we left hungry.
