I've been here a few times now and the food is always made to a very high standard and great presentation with good sized portions. The Cullen skink soup which was the special of the day when we went this week was amazing!!. We will be returning again for sure.

My son came across this little restaurant when he was visiting from London with his girlfriend. It was his birthday and he wanted to try somewhere knew. Thought it would be quiet, being a Tuesday evening, but it was pretty busy which added to the atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, we all enjoyed every morsel and I have to... More

We took the family. Everyone agreed it was the best meal they'd had in a long long time. Delicious food, fine dining style. Excellent atmosphere and service. Heartily recommend.

Great deal for 3 courses on a Sunday. I visited with a large party of family and every dish was delicious. Top quality, well presented food. Highly recommended!

Five of us had the pre-theatre menu on a Saturday evening (choice of 3 starters, 3 mains). All agreed the food was brilliant. I was slightly concerned that there was something in each starter I wouldn't like but the gin & beetroot smoked salmon turned out to be fab.

Returned back to the Wee Lochan for a family meal. We immediately all noticed that the quality of food presentation had hugely improved. All the dishes look ready to be served on Masterchef! For starters, my daughter had the Twice Baked Souffle. She raved about it and would have happily had it again as a main. My wife & I... More

Well, thank you for your lovely review. The chefs are delighted to hear that the food presentation is hugely improved. We had one chef who, sadly wasn't quite up to the job anymore and he has now hung up his aprons and moved onto other projects (very enthusiastically may I say). No doubt this has had the impact on the... More

On a dank/dreich day in January, our annual visit to The Wee Lochan was as enjoyable as the past four years has been (if not better.) Cullen Skink to die for, Gin Smoked Salmon on a potato cake followed by probably the most indulgent sticky toffee pudding in the world marked this out as an excellent experience from start to... Wanted light lunch and as had visited here before decided it would be nicer than sandwich type place. Very busy despite being midweek January which says a lot. Decided on starter/ dessert combo and again the parsnip soufflé was lovely - light and tasty, while the carmellised passionfruit tart was tangy and had excellent thin pastry - no soggy bottoms!
