So where do I start......... Arrived in for an early lunch, as I sat down at the table I'd been offered I noticed the extremtly intoxicated/inebriated young man at the table next to us, I didn't fancy dining beside someone who was is such a...bad state they'd completely missed their mouth with 99% of the food.
After some confusion with the staff we were moved to the far side of the restaurant when things started to really kick off. The same young man tried to leave without paying, the staff were quick to react and stopped him from leaving without paying and one rather tough but polite waitress sorted the situation out.
Strangely this waitress left shortly after that in a bit of a pantomime after what seemed like a heated discussion after what seems like a manager arrived.
The show was eventful and the extncive menu of world wide classic dishes was rather good and very reasonably priced.
Sauces were rather watery as were the soft drinks.
Would go agian.More
We’ve eaten here a few times but this was the worst. The restaurant is looking a bit shabby. The chairs are filthy, the hand drier in the ladies wasn’t working, the fork on my table was caked with dried food. It was Sunday lunch time...but very quiet. There was a decent choice of food but it was only just warm. It must have been sitting there too long. The nan bread was stale and inedible, the pasta was very overcooked, the onion bhaji had raw mixture inside, the chicken tikka was tough, the curries lacked flavour/taste. Overall, it was not worth the cost of £12.99 per person and we will not be back.More
What can I say, this is a fantastic place for a meal. I was there with my son and 4 others , everyone had a great time. I have been before and keep going back. The food is amazing the staff are so friendly and...helpful. I booked it for my sons birthday as I did the year before and hopefully for many more. It is a very affordable treat for any occasion. Thank you so much.More
We went with a party of six to the movies at the Quay and had diner afterwards at Cook & Indi’s and had a rather nice time. The buffet seems to be schifting over the years from Chinese to Indian, and the curries are quite...good. Diner was complemented with a proper dessert. Staff is friendly and empty plates are cleared quickly.More
My Girl Scout troop was on a 2 week trip to the UK when we saw this restaurant. We had several picky eaters and thought a buffet would be a good place to satisfy them all. My girls enjoyed the spread so much we went...twice in two days! Very conviently located in the heart of Sauchienall street.
Indian, Japanese, Italian, and I am sure others were represented there. They also have a dessery buffet including N ice cream bar. My girls really liked that part.
There was plenty of room for us both nights and the staff was very accomodating, especially on night two when the girls just needed to talk some stuff out.
Thank you for a pleasant double experience!More
This wasn’t a planned visit, it’s a ten minute walk from our house so it was an easy choice. The variety of food is excellent, good Indian dishes , Pakistani , Chinese, pizza ,pasta and more. There was always enough in the bowls and trays...for everyone. There is also a great choice of desserts if you have any room left after the starters and mains. I am told the evening buffet is bigger but twice the price , try lunch first.More
I was with my boyfriend to eat at the world buffet darnley for the first time. I do not recommend eating, currys has a detergent taste, and juice is very expensive to taste (cheap) a dirty buffet with insects .... I do not think that...I will never come👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼More
I visited with family as a last minute thing and was able to get a table easily for 4 adults and 2 kid's. The staff were all pleasant so I can't fault them. We sat near the window and noticed not long after we started...eating we were getting pestered with flies! I've visited several times as I live nearby but I doubt I'll be back. The food is mediocre and drinks over priced. The whole place is looking tired and not as clean as it could be. I would love for this lovely old building to be transformed into a nice pub restaurant. The area could really do with something like that as the current setup as clearly on its last legs in my opinion. If it hadn't been a last minute decision to go out for dinner we'd have went to Cosmo!More
