My friends and I visited the Italian Caffe last night for dinner. We had the olives and focaccia for starters, both absolutely delicious, lovely amount of garlic and the focaccia was so delicious I could eat that all day! We all had the tapas portions...as we couldn’t decide on one main meal. I had penne salsiccia and spaghetti gamboreti. Both were delicious and so filling. We had lots of red wine and coffee. The bill was very reasonable. Can I commend the waiting staff. They were so pleasant, funny and friendly. Made our night!!! Can’t wait to return!More

My 89 year old aunt was given vouchers for this restaurant at Christmas 2019 which were valid for 12 months. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions she was shielding and as we only recently went to level 0 we arranged a family lunch with her. The...owner refused to extend the vouchers saying that was their policy and that my aunt should have phoned them to extend the vouchers. I explained that my aunt lived alone and we only found out she had the vouchers that day. Reluctantly he agreed to take £10 off my aunt’s share of the bill. Given that most other proprietors have been very accommodating at extending vouchers I was extremely disappointed. We left one of the £10 vouchers as a tip in the hope that the owner treats his staff better than his customers.More

What a fantastic afternoon we all had today. As 6 friends from 6 households, we could not book a table inside a restaurant due to covid restrictions, but instead were limited to booking an outside table. Do you realise how difficult it is to book...an outside table nowadays, with guaranteed roof coverings of some description ? The majority are on a 1st come 1st served basis, that is no use whatsoever when the 6 of us are coming from all different parts of Glasgow to meet up for the 1st time in over a year, we could not take the chance !! The Italian Caffe in Albion Street was recommended to us, it had 2 fixed, sturdy gazebos outside with nice tables & comfy chairs. Great start !! The service was superb, the food was fantastic and, when the rain started battering down, the manager attached a side wall to the gazebo to keep the rain from spoiling our day. All in all, we had a brilliant day, and we will definitely be back. Well done to the manager, and all the front of house staff & kitchen staff for making our day so enjoyable.More

Had great meal - excellent food & friendly service. We were 6 households so had to eat outside - large gazebos & when it rained they put on a side to keep us dry! Would definitely recommend.

First meal out in Glasgow since lock down and what a meal. We sat outside coz obviously we could have a nice bottle of chianti classico. My husband had pizza and I had carbonara oh my goodness both were absolutely delicious and had some garlic...bread with mozzarella yum yum. Service was excellent everyone so friendly. Will definitely be back time and time again. I can’t thank the staff enough especially the chef for such an amazing lunch xMore

The food isn’t what it used to be. I used to come here all the time and over the years it’s just not as good as it was. The service was fine. The food was well below par. Tasteless and blandMore

Had the sirloin steak deal, quality steaks cooked to perfection, and fresh, crisp chips. The crepe from the Italian lunch menu was also excellent, fresh ingredients cooked simply made it an authentic Italian dish. Good quality house wine and a choice of decent Italian wines....Went at lunchtime midweek so not very busy, service was friendly and efficient but not overbearing. Will definitely go back soon to sample a few tapas sized pasta plates on the main menu. Ideal solution for my indecisiveness and dinner envyMore
