We always over-order here because we get too excited about everything on the menu. The juices are fresh and superbly blended, the rice bowls are bursting with flavour and textures and are filling yet light in the stomach. The desserts are rich and scrummy. Each time we've been the staff are so polite and attentive. Water arrives at the table without you asking and the setting feels high-end, sharp, clean, and smart. Cannot recommend Soulfood Kitchen highly enough and we return regularly with our kids for a healthy feast they all love.

First time visit as i try to improve my food choices albeit with a reluctant partner.
We ate off the “Brunch” menu served 12-4pm, the young waiter who served us didn’t pick up our uncertainty around our choices and when we ordered a main and soup of the day he replied “Is that all?” I thought perhaps he was a little sniffy but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The food arrived, apologetic for the delay but it wasn’t late enough that we even noticed. The main was delicious and soup of the day was good leek and potato, difficult to elevate or go wrong
Once we finished Sniffy returned to clear the table and we asked if we see the sweet menu, “we don’t have one, have a look in the window (a chiller cabinet) and catch my eye” BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT LOST
It was our Saturday lunchtime treat so we did have cheesecake and it was excellent too
When we left and paid the bill I was served by the manager but didn’t complain as one of my partners work colleagues was being introduced to me at the same time.
We will be back, 🤞the waiters get taught the power of language

Had dinner here with a friend, the vegetarian and vegan choices are very very good! in fact Id say better than the meat options.
Despite being on the lower ground the interior is bright/airy and fresh with a fresh white and antique green/teal decor.
Service was quite and the presentation of the food was very high! The portions also were very filling.
We shared the nachos and they and the lime guacamole was so delicious !!!
My main of jack fruit goulash was so warming, tasty and rich i really loved it -I will absolutely be back here

We stayed at Argyll Guest House and this is where breakfast is served, it's joined to the Argyll Hotel.
Service was good, wee waitress that we had was very friendly and polite, the pot of tea was lovely and the toast was...well toast. The cooked breakfast included sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs, weren't to my liking but hey ho, point is definitely not vegan/vegetarian, which it claims to be on the website. If I was veggi or vegan I would certainly not eat here as I don't know if the have separate fridges and cookers for meat products.

Hello Nursy,
Our neighbours at the Argyll Hotel would love to hear you had a lovely breakfast and stay. We appreciate your concern but can ensure Soul Food Kitchen is separate from the Argyll hotel. We have completely different staff, fridges, pots, pans, knifes, plates, cutely, coffee machines, chopping boards. We even order from different wholesalers. Everything is deep clean between staff turn over.

Visited Sunday the 3rd of October. Been vegan for about 9 months and always wanted to try this place since coming across it on Instagram. Me and my non-vegan girlfriend gave it a shot and it’s safe to say we’ll be regulars for sure. We both thought the food was great and i personally found it great to have a vegan burger that was made with actual healthy whole foods as opposed to the processed fake meats everywhere else serves. The food was great but overall it was the staff that were the highlight. The girl who sat us down was really friendly and welcoming from the start and the blonde dude with slightly longer hair who was working behind the smoothie bar who also ended up taking our order was super attentive and even came over to ask how the smoothies were that he made, when we told him they were great he seemed genuinely really pleased that we enjoyed them - was a really nice touch!
Overall a class place to eat at for both vegans and non-vegans!

It has to be said my husband is not the greatest fan of vegan food so I don't think he was overly looking forward to our lunch here. It would be an exageration to say he's totally converted to veganism but he certainly really enjoyed his meal at this restaurant and left saying that this was the type of vegan meal he would be happy to eat on a regular basis.
The service was excellent, the decor was understated and relaxed and the price was very reasonable.

We had high hopes for this meal and were quickly dissapointed
From the lukewarm reception to the shambolic missing foods from our meals to the absolute poor handling of everything it went from bad to worse
The pitifully petite olive starters were probably the least tasty olives I have ever tasted
My meal arrived with an empty metal mini bucket on the plate. When I pointed out that the chips were missing she quickly retorted ''No, they are there' '
pointing at the empty mini bucket..and then realised her mistake.
How she not noticed in carrying the plate from the kitchen to the table that the mini chip bucket was empty I'll never know
She returned later with a mini tin of the fattest potato wedges I've ever seen.
When I questioned if these were chips she said 'yes'
When is a chip a potato wedge is the question I am still trying to answer.
Some of them were hard and not cooked and I left most of them
Secondly my son ordered the sweet potato curry and when it arrived he noticed the popadoms were missing and asked for them.
The waitress quickly replied no popadoms with this, thats a different dish
As the menu had been taken away we could not argue this at the time.
My son thought it had popadoms with the dish he had chosen.
We managed to find a menu and he was correct, the dish stated popadoms
Thirdly the Bang Bang Satay bowl was more a a damp squid
Again food items missing which was once again denied by the waitress
The tiniest amount of Tofu, come on now tofu is hardly pricey
A complete lack of any seasoning in this dish meant this got left and the cauliflour was compeltely absent
Fourthly my Mac soul burger was without a soul, the burger was a mess, the burger fell apart before I could eat it and was a damp squidgy mess as well as tasteless and the baby gem lettuce was not a bay any more it had clearly grown
We all left most of the food on our plates and no one came to the table to ask us how our meal was
When we tried to discuss the problems we were told the manager was sick and they spent an eternity trying to phone this mysterious manager
One of the waitresses it was her fisrt day and she clearly didnt have a clue on how to handle the situation
No front of house no manager, a restaurant should not open if they are not being manged
My son was willing to pay 50% of the bill when I would have refused to pay a penny for any of it, so dissapointed were we and we left disgruntled and hungry
Never again.
I know restaurants can have bad days but good customer service is vital to rectify mistakes and win back the customer.
We were made to feel like we were int he wrong
I have never had to ask for a reducation on a meal, this was a first time and no wonder people dont like to complain,as the staff made this a really awkward and difficult process taking close to half an hour to resolve .
Whoever the mysterious manager is this really is not good enough for you to be opening your doors as an above average priced restaurant

Really great place - we had a company dinner of about 13, with people coming at different times, close to when the kitchen stopped serving at the end of the day, and were generally a bit of a logistical nightmare and nuisance I’m sure! But the staff were really accommodating, made sure those coming early had drinks and those coming late had food in takeaway boxes. Great to have so much choice of delicious vegan food, desserts were fab too. We even forgot to take our VAT receipt for expenses and the staff emailed us a picture of it the next day - above and beyond! Top class place, would definitely recommend

I've been here several times before the pandemic and was my first trip back since all the lockdowns, and it lived up to its usual extremely high standard!
Service was impeccable as usual, food was incredibly tasty and lovely atmosphere there. I'm only veggie (try to eat vegan when I can) and my friend that I brought is a meat eater but both blown away with the quality and taste of food.
I got some cakes to take away (as per my usual) and one of the staff members was very kind and stuck in a few freebie truffle bites which were very much enjoyed! So thank you! And a very merry Christmas to all the team!

Had been really looking forward to visiting soul kitchen for my 1st vegan experience and have to say the food was fantastic, definately 5 stars, however I had to drop that to 4 as the waiter appeared to not want to be there. He had an unfortunate manner and when I tried to get some information about the cakes he couldnt be bothered putting me off asking anything further. I didn't order cake. I thought there would have been more enthusiasm. Top Mark's to the chef however but front of house needs training.

Came here with friends one who was vegan. Brunch menu. Ordered the hummus and nacho starters. No nachos 😢 so ordered the haggis Bon bons instead. Hummus platter was delicious and bon bons were ok, bit nippy especially with the peppercorn sauce. Mains were burger with sweet potato fries- vegan friend absolutely loved it! Other mains were the mac and greens and special of aubergine and sweet potato- both delicious. Summary- food good, atmosphere good, prices good, service just ok (could be improved). We would go back.

Got a takeaway for the first time today and was blown away by the food, I had the soul burger and a snickers bar and both were amazing! It was clear they were made with fresh ingredients and so very tasty. My one and only criticism was that the lady who took payment was extremely unfriendly, only begrudgingly allowing me to use the toilet while I was there BUT all other staff were lovely, one young man even offered me some water while I was waiting for my order. Would recommend!

I've eaten here twice now and look forward to visiting again soon. The jackfruit goulash was one of the best meals I've ever had and the Mac Soul Burger was tasty and filling. The desserts are of the raw vegan variety and very sweet. I love that this is a healthful menu while still being indulgent. If only carnivores didn't moan so much about having to eat vegan food in a plant-based restaurant. Get one sitting next to me every time I eat out.

I was really delighted to find that Soul Food Kitchen was just around the corner from the area in which I was staying - right next to Kelvingrove in the beautiful West End of Glasgow. As a 'table for one' I was made to feel welcome and the service was attentive but not invasive. I chose the Green Beast burger with salted wedges and wasn't disappointed. I hope this little gem goes from strength to strength and if you haven't tried it yet give it a go!

We were looking forward to our first visit to the Soul Food Cafe. It turned out to be short and unpleasant. We went in and there was no greeting from anyone beind the counter. Oh well, hey ho. But the problems began when we were seated. The waitress started by telling us what wasn't available on the menu. Basically, one (of four) item on the brunch menu was available. One (of four) item on the specials menu was available. She then began scoring things off the regular menu, saying 'We don't have that...or that....or that....' In short, there were more items on their (not especially big) menu that weren't available than actually were. These included pancakes. How can a restaurant that supposedly offers brunch not have pancakes? There was so little on offer we got up and left, and we won't be back. I've been eating in restaurants for nearly fifty years and I can't remember a service - in terms of availability - as poor as this was. If you're a restaurant, provide a service to patrons. It's really not difficult.
