I rarely comment twice on a restaurant but this one is worth a second mention simply for quality of the food. We dropped in for a late lunch and we're pleased at the the fixed price two or three courses on offer. There is something here for all tastes but my partner opted for the steak which was succulent and... More

This hotel is local to us and we use it quite regularly. Our meal out was spur of the moment, yet no trouble in getting a table. Food was excellent, loved the Steak and Ale Pie, my son had the Salmon which looked lovely. Excellent value for money too. We were not disappointed.

Lovely room and delicious food. Only gripe was the guests from the wedding downstairs coming up to the bar upstairs banging about and shouting and taking the mick out of the barmaid (which was uncalled for)

Firstly the hotel staff are just wonderful here. We had a lovely corner room with 4 poster bed. Lovely and clean too. The food though....I had a completely dry salad with a soufflé not nice. Hubby had anti past but instead of oil and balsamic they gave him soy sauce!! They insisted that it was balsamic but it clearly wasn't.... More

Went here with my friend and our kids for afternoon tea. The boys are very fussy but they let them share an afternoon tea and made up sandwiches specifically for them. My friend and I are not very fussy and enjoyed every single bit of afternoon tea! We didn't get to sample the shortbread as the boys wolfed down theirs... More

OH had his favourite steak pie served with chips and a nice selection of veg.........no complaints from him. Don't eat a lot of pasta at... More

The food may be good but it is most annoying that regulars are given preferential treatment. By all means, appreciate the business that regulars may bring but don't forget that the irregular visitor is also paying and deserves the same service. It is this type of discrimination and disregard of customers that deservedly rates the lowest mark.

I stayed here with my girlfriend on a Sunday night. First impressions were not good, as we were kept waiting at check-in with no acknowledgement or apology. The blonde lady at reception was quite abrupt and gave the impression that our presence was a bit of a hassle for her. When we made it up to the room, a section... More
